Step 1: Lead-in
Greet students and ask about their favourite places in school. Introduce the project topic and objectives. Start with students’ favorite school places to connect with their daily lives and reduce shyness; clarify the project topic and objectives upfront, so students know the learning direction clearly.
Step 2: Work on 3a
Ask students to draw a map of their school on their own, including classrooms, libraries, playgrounds, etc.
Encourage them to use appropriate prepositions to describe the locations of each place (e.g.: The library is next to the science building.) Ask students to draw school maps and describe locations with prepositions—link grammar learning to visual and real scenarios, strengthening memory.
Step 3: Work on 3b
1. Divide students into small groups and assign each group a different area of the school to focus on.
2. Have students discuss what fun things they do in that area and plan a tour route. Encourage students to use target language to communicate and negotiate within their groups.
3. Each group takes turns to practise their tour, with one member giving the presentation while others provide feedback. Assign different school areas to groups to avoid repeated ideas and ensure everyone participates. Let groups discuss activities and plan tour routes to practice target language in communication. Conduct group presentations and peer feedback to lower speaking pressure and practice in advance.
Step 4: Work on 3c
Each group presents their tour to the class using their map. After all presentations, conduct a class vote to select the best tour guide. Award the winner with a small prize or certificate to recognize their efforts. Let groups present to the class to boost a sense of achievement; hold a vote for the best tour guide to add fun and make students feel their efforts are recognized.
Step 5: Summary and Homework
Summarize the key points learned during the lesson.
Assign homework: Ask students to write a short paragraph about their favourite place in school and why they like it.
After they hand in the homework, I will choose several passages to share in the class and monitor those who didn't complete well. Summarize key points to help students organize knowledge; assign a short essay about their favorite school place to reinforce learning with target language; later share good works and follow up with students who didn’t finish, balancing review and support.

3. Post-class Reflection
Through the teaching of this lesson, students actively participate and can draw relatively accurate school maps, and practice introducing the school using prepositions of place in team cooperation. However, in the practice process, some students still need to improve in terms of language expression and fluency. In future teaching, more attention will be paid to students' language output and oral expression ability training, and at the same time, students will be encouraged to participate and communicate more actively in team cooperation.
