Sweat began to form on my forehead.I opened my mouth

A few days later,I heard that school was to bring back the Promsition
campaign during Christmas.The gift-giving and promotion activities during the
festival had always been my favourite.Moreover,the campaign was a tradition that
had 3 a few years earlier.Yet it involved public speeches at the school auditorium.I
was caught in a mental struggle for days before my brother 4 me to have a try.
Ine night before the conference,I spent hours practicing.Whenever I got stuck
on a word,I changed it to an easier one.By the time had finished,my throat ached.
But I crcated a stutter ()-friendly speech that would last long enough.
The whole conference has faded in my memory.All I remember is walking to the
stage on5legs.My stutter felt ready to mercilessly embarrass me in front of the
entire school.I took a deep breath and got ready for the word staccatos to shoot out.
But the strangest thing happened-I spoke6,Word after word flowed off my
tongue,and a moment later,the audience's applause rang in the air.
After this experience,life continued as normal,but the71 had undergone was
apparent.Rather than avoiding anything that involved public speaking.I started to live
more8 and even take leadership roles.My confidence boomed.Finally,I was
selected as student president.
Looking back,I am amazed at the amount of change that can happen in a year.
Having been caught up in a lerrible9where my stutter ate away my confidence.
I needed the Poinsettia Campaign to break out of it.While my stutter still strikes now
and then,I no longer allow it to affect me.What happens now'if I stutter A moment
of 10 but that's it.
