In this lesson,students engaged well with the video and free talk,sharing personal resolutions actively. However, during the mind map activity, some students had trouble connecting paragraphs to the text structure. Next time,I'll provide clearer examples and more scaffolding for weaker students. Pronunciation
Exercise 1 1.Have students read the words in each column and pay attention to the pronunciation of the letters or letter combinations in bold. 2.Ask students to listen and repeat after the recording.Then explain the key points of pronouncing these sounds. 3.Encourage some students to read these sounds and words in class so that the teacher can find some possible problems or mistakes.The teacher gives correct demonstrations and makes them practise the pronunciation more. 4.Brainstorm more words to add to each group. Exercise 2 1.Before listening,ask students to quickly skim through the coloured words to get a preliminary understanding.Then have students listen and notice how the coloured words are pronounced. 2.Guide students to repeat after listening.Remind them of common linking situations.For example,“want to” is often pronounced as “wanna”,and explain the general rules of unstressed words.For instance,articles and prepositions are usually unstressed. 3.Arrange pair work or group work for students to practise reading sentences with linking and unstressed words.If possible,provide additional short dialogues or passages containing these pronunciation features for further practice.

Teaching Reflection
The lesson successfully engaged students in discussing dream jobs and future plans,with strong participation during pair work and role playing. However, I noticed that some students hesitated to use the “be going to” structure naturally,indicating a need for more contextual practice.Additionally,while the listening tasks were effective,a few students found it challenging to match statements with names. Next time,I will include more guided practice with sentence patterns and provide additional support during listening activities to ensure all students can confidently grasp the material.
