Earth
Earth is the 3rd planet in our Solar System, just right for life—not too hot or cold!
About 71% of Earth’s surface is covered by oceans (the rest is land).
Earth is the only known planet with plants, animals, and humans.
From space, Earth looks blue because of its water and white clouds.
Mars
Scientists search for signs of past or present life there.
Fourth Planet – It’s the 4th planet from the Sun, between Earth and Jupiter.
Temperatures average -60°C, but can drop to -125°C at the poles.
A day on Mars is 24.6 hours —almost the same as Earth’s!
Moon
The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite .
The Moon has no atmosphere (air) and no liquid water .
12 astronauts walked on the Moon between 1969-1972. They left footprints that are still there today!
Scientists think the Moon formed 4.5 billion years ago when a giant rock crashed into Earth.
Areas of the Moon’s south pole with possible deposits of water ice(水冰沉积), shown in blue.
