任务五 任务型阅读(10 分)
Everywhere we go, no matter how old we are, we must follow safety rules. Though many people might not see the purpose of stopping at a stop sign or driving at the speed limit, rules keep us safe.
People start to learn about the importance of rules when they are children. Needless to say, there are many rules that teach children right from wrong and how to keep themselves and their friends safe. For example, children learn safety rules when they walk in the hallway at school. They are told not to run because they may hurt themselves or run into another student. In the lunchroom, children are taught to sit nicely while they are eating because they are more likely to choke (噎住) if they are jumping around in their seat. On the playground, they are told to use the equipment (设备) properly. For example, they should not go down the slide backward or climb up the slide when someone is going down because there can be an accident.
High school students will also be given safety rules but at a different level than younger children. High school students may be taught, for example, safety rules in the science lab. Lab safety is very important because if one thing is done wrong, it can result in a fire or a bad accident.

One possible version:
We Grow Up Safely
A safe school is quite important for our growth.
My school has many safety rules to protect students. For example, there is a monthly class meeting teaching us how to make an emergency escape. Also, we are not allowed to run in the hallways or on stairs. I think these rules are helpful because they reduce the risks of accidents and keep us away from dangers.
However, I suggest adding one more class each week to teach us some important skills, like how to deal with accidents. This may be very helpful to us.
As a student, I will follow our school’s safety rules, and remind my classmates to avoid dangerous actions. Let’s work together to make our school a safer place!
