The story of Chang'e is one of the traditional folk stories about Mid-Autumn Festival. Chang'e was Hou Yi's wife. Hou Yi got some magic medicinefrom a goddess. Pang Meng, a bad man,
tried to steal the medicine when Hou Yi was not home. But Change refused to give it to him and drank it all. She became very light and flew up to the moon. One night, Hou Yi found that the moon was so bright and round that he could see his wife. He quickly laid out her favorite food and wished that she could come back.
