一．Some people think that friends should be alike, but some other people think that friends should be different.有些人认为朋友应该相似，而另一些人则认为朋友应该不同。 (p26)
考点：alike
(adj.) “相似的”，仅作表语（不可作定语即不可修饰名词）
放在系动词（be/look/seem/sound 等）后
1. 基本结构：主语 + 系动词 + alike
My two best friends are alike in many ways.（我的两个好朋友在很多方面很相似。）
2. 常用搭配：be alike in sth（在某方面相似）
They are alike in their love for classical music.（他们在对古典音乐的热爱上很相似。）
（adv.）：表 “同样地、相似地”，多置于句末修饰动词（如 think/act/treat/dress 等）
基本结构：主语 + 动词 + alike
Eg. The twins think alike.这对双胞胎想法一致
二．I think a good friend is like a mirror. My friend, Stephen, is a great example.我认为一个好朋友就像一面镜子。我的朋友斯蒂芬就是一个很好的例子。 (p26)

三．I read more history books than he does, and he reads a lot of novels. For me, friends who are different make me better. 我读的历史书比他多，他读的小说也很多。对我来说，不同朋友使我变得更好。(p26)
考点：定语从句
定义：定语从句是一个修饰名词或代词的从句，相当于 “形容词” 的作用。
基本结构：“先行词（被修饰词） + 关系词（连接主从句的词语） + 从句本身
注意：关系代词功能：代指被修饰词充当从句的主语或宾语
先行词类型 常用关系代词 可作成分
指人 who/that 主语（不可省）
例句 The boy who/that plays basketball is my classmate.（打篮球的男孩是我同学。）
指人 whom/that 宾语（可省略）
例句 The teacher (whom/that) we met yesterday is very kind.（我们昨天见的老师很和蔼。）
指物 which/that 主语 / 宾语（可省略）
例句 The pen which/that is on the desk is mine.（桌上的钢笔是我的。）
The book (which/that) I read is fun.（我读的书很有趣。）
指人 / 指物 whose 定语（表所属）后接名词，表 “…… 的”
例句 1. The girl whose hair is long is Lucy.（头发长的女孩是露西。）2. This is the house whose window is broken.（这是窗户破了的房子。）
四．For example, I am kind of shy, but my best friend, Yuan Lei, is outgoing.She has a great sense of humour too. Thanks to her, I am becoming more outgoing.例如，我有点腼腆，但我的最好的朋友袁磊很外向。她还有很好的幽默感。多亏了她，我变得越来越外向了。(p27)

五．He is not afraid to give his opinion, especially when he thinks I am making a mistake.
I am less straightforward than he is, but I am glad to have an honest friend.他不怕发表自己的意见，特别是当他觉得我犯了错误的时候。我比他不那么直率，但我很高兴有一个诚实的朋友。(p27)

动词（v.）“要紧；重要”
It doesn’t matter if you are late. The meeting starts at 10. （你迟到也没关系，会议 10 点开始。）
七．We got great pleasure from the prize we won. We should respect the differences in others.The average height of the students in the class is around 1.6 metres. They exchanged their lives by accident. 我们从我们获得的奖中得到了极大的快乐。我们应该尊重别人的不同。班上学生的平均身高大约是1.6米。他们偶然交换了生命。(p28)
