Millie is reading an introduction to the school library online. Read the article and answer the questions below.
Reading
1. You will find lots of books on different subjects there—thousands of them, in fact!
你会在那里找到许多不同主题的书——确切地说，有成千上万册呢！
(1) 本句中的thousands of them、in fact是补充说明的内容，补充说明的对象是books，本句用破折号引出补充说明的内容。
(2) a. thousands of “数以千计的；许许多多的”，表示约数。后接名词复数，其前不能加具体的数词。如：thousands of books
b. thousand前有several或具体数词时，thousand后不加-s。 如：five thousand book
c. 与thousand用法类似的词还有：hundred、million（百万）、billion（十亿）等。
Language points
(3) 短语in fact意思是“确切地说”。
e.g. I live in this town; in fact, not far from your hometown.
我住在这个镇上；确切地说，离你家乡不远。
此外，in fact还可以表示“事实上，实际上”。用以强调实际情况与刚刚提及的恰好相反。
e.g. I thought the question would be hard. In fact, it was very easy.
我原以为这个问题会很难，事实上却很容易。
2. You can borrow three books at a time.
你可以一次借三本书。
(1) borrow sth. from sb. 向某人借某物
拓展：lend sth. to sb. = lend sb. sth. 把某物借给某人
e.g. She borrows 200 yuan from her parents.
她向她的父母借了200元。
(2) 短语at a time意思是“每次，逐一”。
e.g. I can only answer one question at a time.
我一次只能回答一个问题。
句中的the top floor指的是顶层。对于楼层的表达，英美有差异。
英式英语：the ground floor 一楼 the first floor 二楼
美式英语：the first floor 一楼 the second floor 二楼
3. There is a reading room with computers on the top floor.
顶层有一间配备了电脑的阅览室。
4. You can also use the internet to help you with your studies.
你也可以使用互联网来帮助你学习。
(1) use sth. to do sth. 用某物去做某事
e.g. I use a toothbrush to brush my teeth.
我用牙刷刷牙。
(2) help sb. with sth. 帮助某人做某事
e.g. My sister often helps me with homework.
我姐姐经常帮助我写作业。
