1. Cut up the tomatoes. 把西红柿切碎。
cut up意为“切碎”,是“动词+副词”短语结构。人称代词作宾语时只能放在cut与up中间;名词作宾语时,可放在cut与up中间,也可放在up后面。cut sth up相当于cut sth into pieces。
Pass the meat to me. I’ll cut it up. 把肉递给我。我要切碎它。
Cut up the vegetables, please. 请把蔬菜切碎。

mix作动词,意为“(使)混合;融合”。常用短语:mix ... with/and ... (把……与……混合),mix up (搅匀;混合;混淆)。
If you mix blue and/with yellow, you can get green. 如果你把蓝色和黄色混合,你会得到绿色。
Don’t mix up the two kinds of cakes. 不要把这两种蛋糕混合在一起。

词汇 相同点 不同点
into 两者都意为“在……里” 侧重指“进入……里”,表示通过某一动作进入某空间内,属于动态介词
in 侧重指“在……(某一空间或范围)内”,表示一种状态,是静态介词
注:在put,throw等动词之后,既可以用in,也可以用into,这时in也表示动态,相当于into。

boil作动词,意为“煮沸;烧开”,此处作及物动词。它也可作不及物动词,其后接温度时要用介词at。boil作动词,还可意为“(用开水)煮”。

意群是句子内部意义相对完整的一组词。意群的界限是相对的。一个句子可以是一个大意群,也可分为若干个小意群,句子内的意群之间停顿时间较短,用一根竖直线(|)标出;句子和句子之间的停顿时间较长,用两根竖直线(||)标出。

英语有两种最基本的语调,即降调和升调。降调的基本意义是“肯定”和“完结”,通常用于陈述句、特殊疑问句、选择疑问句的后半部分、祈使句和感叹句等。升调的基本意义是“不确定”和“未完结”,可表示犹豫、怀疑、婉转、含蓄、试探等含义。升调通常用于一般疑问句、陈述句表示疑问的各类句子,以及表示意思未完的各种情况。升调可以用于说话者不能确定信息是否准确,需要对方核实的情况。
