Yuan Longping
Yuan Longping (1930-2021) was a Chinese agricultural scientist. He was born in Beijing.
Yuan spent his whole life developing different kinds of hybrid rice. These new types of plants can produce much more rice than traditional ones. Yuan’s work has helped feed people in China and many other parts of the world. Farmers in a lot of countries now grow his hybrid rice.
Yuan won many awards for his research. He received the Medal of the Republic, one of China's highest honours, in 2019. People call him the “Father of Hybrid Rice”.

Qian Xuesen
Qian Xuesen (1911 - 2009) was a Chinese aerospace scientist and engineer. He was born in Shanghai.
Qian devoted his life to the development of China's aerospace and missile technology. After studying and working in the United States for years, he overcame many difficulties to return to China. He played a role in building China's missile program and was one of the key person in the development of China's first man-made satellite. His work made China stronger in defense and space exploration.
Qian received many honors for his contributions. He was regarded as the "Father of China's Space Program" and "King of Rockets". His achievements not only increase China's national strength but also inspired generations of Chinese scientists to pursue excellence in science and technology.

Huang Xuhua (1926-2024), a well-known Chinese scientist, was born in Chao Shan Guangdong Province. From an early age, he showed great interest in science and engineering, and he was unusually talented in solving difficult problems.
