Weifang is famous for its international(国际的) kite festival.
1989年国际风筝联合会正式成立，总部设于山东潍坊，潍坊也有一年一度的国际风筝节Weifang International Kite Festival，在每年的4月20号左右。

世界风筝之都
潍坊市被各国推崇为“世界风筝之都”，国际风筝联合会的总部就设在潍坊风筝博物馆。潍坊是风筝之乡，属中国三大风筝派系之一，与京、津风筝齐名鼎立，享誉中外。潍坊风筝题材多样，具有浓郁的乡土风味和民间生活气息。每年4月20日至25日举行，每年都有来自30个国家和地区的代表团参赛。节庆的活动内容包括：举办开幕式，放飞仪式，国际风筝比赛，国内风筝大奖赛，评选风筝十绝，参观风筝博物馆，观看杨家埠民间艺术表演，参观民俗旅游村，与农民同吃、同住、同娱乐等。
Weifang Kite Museum is China's first large kite museum, which collects and displays many precious kites and some documents related with kites. It is the biggest kite museum of the world.
