①Have you heard of “helicopter (直升机) parents” If parents pay too much attention to their children, then they are. “Helicopter parents” are always working hard to provide children with every chance (机会) to succeed, from baby steps at age 1, homework at age 8, jobs at age 25 to family problems at age 30,40 or even older.
②Helicopter parenting can develop for a number of reasons. Worries about children’s future success can push parents to take more control over their children’s life. Adults who felt unloved as children may want to give as much love as they can to their own children. And when parents see others doing so, they will also follow.
③Although it develops with the idea of doing good things, yet the result isn’t always satisfying. Mary is taken to five after-school classes each week, but she doesn’t do well in any of them. “I feel like I am just checking off things on the list,” she says.
④Worse still, overparenting can do the exact opposite. A child raised in this way may feel helpless when he has to do things on his own. “________,” an expert said, “and if parents don’t let their children experience failure themselves, the children won’t get them.”
⑤Since helicopter parenting does such great harm, does it mean parents should just back off and let it go Of course not! “The point is to prepare the kid for the road but not the road for the kid,” another expert said. “Teach them what is right, provide them with good environment and develop their good habits, but you have to let them live their own lives.”

With a habit of drinking coffee on weekends while doing schoolwork, Wu Zibo, a 17-year-old student from Beijing No. 4 High School, wanted to order a cup of Moutai-flavored latte (茅台味拿铁). “I wonder how my father’s favorite Chinese liquor (白酒) would taste with my favorite coffee,” Wu told Teens.
The collaboration (合作) between Kweichow Moutai and Luckin Coffee has interested many people. It sold 5.42 million cups and made 100 million yuan just on Sept 4th, the first day it came out, China Daily reported.
Moutai has tried many ways in recent years to be more creative, such as by bringing out Moutai ice cream and canvas bags.
“This creative collaboration lets Moutai make its brand younger,” Li Honghui, a marketing director for drinks, shared with Teens. Through collaborations, brands can share what they need, make the market bigger, and bring more innovative things to buyers, added Li.
In 2023, China’s collaboration market will grow to over 100 billion yuan and may reach 300 billion yuan by 2025, according to China Quality Daily. However, wrong collaborations may have undesirable results and even hurt brands.
“The key to making a collaboration work is about how good the products are. The brands should not just focus on getting the public excited,” said Li.
In the collaboration between Manner Coffee and Louis Vuitton (LV) in Shanghai, people could get an LV canvas bag by buying at least two books in the coffee shop. But the two books would cost 580 yuan altogether. People were not happy with it, and the collaboration stopped early.
In July, Heytea (喜茶) and Chow Tai Fook (周大福) teamed up to launch a peach-flavor drink. However, the drink was mocked by internet users as not being innovative or tasty. They also said that peaches have nothing to do with Chow Tai Fook.
54.What do the numbers in Paragraph 2 show

56.What does the underlined word “undesirable” mean in paragraph 5

Now, more and more people have difficulties in falling asleep. “In fact, we can train our brain to fall asleep,” says sleep expert Michael Grandner. Here are his top ways.
Make a plan and stick to it.
Melatonin (褪黑素) is produced by the body to control when you get sleepy and when you wake up. As night falls, the levels of melatonin rise, telling the body that it’s time for bed. And the levels naturally fall as daylight comes near, getting you ready to greet the day.
The release (释放) of melatonin needs to be at regular (有规律的) times. So if your bedtime and wake-up time change from day to day, your body doesn’t know how to respond (回应). So it’s important to have a regular bedtime and wake up time, even on weekends.
Don’t lie in bed awake.
In fact this way is very helpful. Whether it’s the beginning of the night or the middle of the night, if you’ve been awake for 20 or 30 minutes, get up. Maybe you just need five minutes to get sleepy, or maybe an hour, but don’t spend that time awake in bed.
Change your attitude (态度) about sleep.
Many people regard sleeping as the final thing in a busy day, so they would rather delay sleeping to do housework, schoolwork or others. That thought needs to be changed. Make sure your sleep time is enough in order to work better the next day. It may sound like a small change, but it’s an important one.
58.When do the levels of melatonin rise
A.When you’re tired. B.When night falls.
C.When you feel sleepy. D.When daylight comes.
59.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage
A.A rise in melatonin levels tells the body it’s time for bed.
B.Enough sleep time can’t make you work better the next day.
C.It’s not necessary for us to sleep or wake up at a regular time.
D.It’s best to stay in bed if you’re awake too long during the night.
60.What does the underlined word “delay” mean in Chinese
A.暗示 B.督促 C.调理 D.推迟
61.What is the passage mainly about
A.The importance of sleeping well. B.The change of bedtime and wake-up time.
C.When to go to bed and wake up. D.How to train your brain for better sleep.

①For years, scientists have known how to measure (衡量) the intelligence (智力) of a person. Recently they began to do research into group intelligence. Early research shows that group intelligence is not the total of the intelligence of the persons in it. So what is the secret of a group’s success
②Researchers at a research company and a university have both dealt with this question. They believe they finally have a handle on what makes some work teams successful. In the study of the company, researchers collected information and studied it to find patterns (模式). Are members of effective (有效的) groups friends outside of work Do members with similar personalities work together best They discussed many opinions, but found no patterns to support them. In fact, who was in the team did not make a difference. Instead, the difference between more effective teams and less effective teams was in the interaction (互动) among the members. The university group collected information by using digital badges (数字徽章) that people agreed to wear. They provided much information, including how long people spoke, where they were looking during communication, and their body language.
③Not only the research company but also the university group found that the key to an effective team was how members communicated with each other.
④Among the findings, the most important is that, in effective teams, members spoke for almost the same amount (数量) of time—not at every meeting or communication, but the whole course of a project. The second one was that members showed an understanding of how it might feel to walk in somebody else’s shoes. A high level of these two characteristics makes a member feel comfortable when he expresses his opinions and makes suggestions without fear of being doubted by other members. They believe that others will listen to them and value what they say.
⑤One might say that most of these findings are clear. However, understanding group intelligence can help people make the basic changes that are necessary to increase the chance of a group’s success.
62.How did the university group do their research
A.They collected information on how people behaved.
B.They studied the findings of some earlier research.
C.They asked people questions and explained the answers.
D.They discussed their opinions and found common pattern.
63.What can we learn about the researchers’ findings
A.It’s important to divide time equally among group members at one meeting.
B.It is necessary for group members to understand each other’s feelings.
C.It is common for group members to be doubted in an effective group.
D.It is believed that group members are all friends during and outside of work.
64.Which of the following shows the structure of this passage
A. B. C. D.
65.Which of the following would be the best title for the passage
A.The Value of Team Members B.The Secret of Group Research
C.The Key to Successful Work Teams D.The Competition between groups

Communication plays an important role in our daily lives.
Last term, I met a big challenge. It made me feel nervous and lost. On a school project, my group members had disagreements. They argued with each other. Feeling sad, I realized that we needed to talk. So, I decided to organize a meeting. With a positive attitude, I encouraged everyone to share their thoughts openly. We listened carefully to each other’s opinions and discussed different ideas. Through effective communication, we were able to find common ground and come up with a plan that everyone was happy with.
This experience taught me that communication is the key to solving problems. It helps us reduce misunderstandings and build better relationships with other people.
