Post-reading
Example
I think making resolutions is useful. Here are the reasons:
First, it helps us get clear direction. For example, if you just think "I want to be better," that's too vague. But if your resolution is "memorize 10 words every day," you'll know exactly what to do, instead of feeling lost like a headless fly.
Second, it can boost our motivation. When you write down "get 80 points in the math final exam," every time you don't want to do exercises, seeing this resolution might make you pick up your pen again. It's like staring at the finish line when running—you'll be more willing to keep going.
Question 1
Example
Third, it helps us learn to reflect. If your resolution is "read one book every week," and you find you only finished half a book by the weekend, you'll know what you did wrong. Then you can adjust—for example, spend 20 minutes less on your phone every day and use that time to read.
Of course, resolutions shouldn't be unrealistic. For example, "learn to play the piano in a month" is really hard to achieve and might make you give up. But as long as resolutions are specific and achievable, they're like a small light, helping us get closer to the person we want to be.
Question 1
Example
I prefer to plan ahead. Here are the reasons:
First, planning ahead makes me feel calm. If I need to finish a homework assignment or prepare for a test, making a plan helps me know what to do each day. For example, if a book report is due in a week, I can plan to read 20 pages every day. This way, I won’t be in a hurry or panic at the last minute.
Second, it helps me do things better. When I plan, I can think carefully about each step. Like, when organizing a class activity, planning ahead lets me list what materials I need and how to divide the work with classmates. This makes the activity go smoothly, instead of forgetting things if I do it at the last moment.
Question 2
Example
Third, it reduces stress. If I leave things until the end, I might feel worried that I can’t finish them on time. But with a plan, I can check my progress little by little. Even if something unexpected happens, I have time to adjust.
Doing things at the last moment sometimes works, but it often makes me feel rushed and may lead to mistakes. So planning ahead is better for me.
