资源简介

仁爱科普版英语八年级上册 Unit 2 Lesson 2: Function & Pronunciation教学设计
Core Literacy Objectives
Through this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Develop linguistic competence by learning weekend-activity vocabulary (gardening, baseball match, art show) and mastering exclamatory sentence structures (How + adj.! / What + (a) + adj. + n.!).
2. Enhance listening and speaking skills by capturing key information in listening tasks (activity matching) and expressing emotions using exclamatory sentences in situational dialogues.
3. Cultivate social competence by sharing real weekend plans and foster a positive life attitude.
4. Improve phonetic awareness and pronunciation accuracy through targeted pronunciation practice.
Key Points and Difficulties
- Capture key information via listening exercises (activity matching).
- Express emotions with exclamatory sentences in situational dialogues.
- Encourage students to share real weekend plans and cultivate a positive life attitude.
Teaching Methods
Lecture, Task-based Practice
Teaching Aids
PPT, Blackboard, Multimedia
Preview Assignment
List three favorite weekend activities and find their English expressions.
Teaching Procedures (Procedures and Content)
Side Notes: [To be filled during class]
Step 1. Lead-in
1. Watch a video about artworks made of different materials.
2. Look at pictures in Activity 1 and match materials with works.
3. Work in pairs: Discuss the following questions:
- Where can you often see these artworks
- What other materials have you seen used for art
Design Intent: The video and picture-matching activity effectively grab students’ attention, activate their prior knowledge about art materials, and lay a foundation for the subsequent content related to weekend art activities.
Step 2. Listening & Speaking
1. Read the given information in Activity 2, then predict the main idea and fill in the missing words in the blanks.
2. Listen to the conversation and complete the exclamatory sentences in Activity 2. Then check the answers as a class.
3. Listen to the conversation again and match names with corresponding activities. Check the answers together.
4. Listen to the conversation and repeat after the recording.
5. Work in pairs: Role-play the conversation and present it to the class.
Design Intent: Predicting content before listening helps students develop effective listening strategies. Repeated listening and role-playing activities deepen students’ understanding of the dialogue, help them master exclamatory sentence structures, and further improve their listening and speaking proficiency.
Step 3. Pair Work
1. Guide students to think about:
- What activities can you participate in at your school’s art show
- If you need materials for your art show project, what materials will you prepare
2. Work in pairs: Discuss what you would like to do at the school art show and how you will prepare for it.
Design Intent: This activity encourages students to apply the learned vocabulary and sentence structures to real-life scenarios. It not only promotes the development of their communicative competence but also enhances their logical thinking when planning and discussing art show activities.
Step 4. Pronunciation
1. Listen to and repeat the words in A1. Ask students to pay attention to the pronunciation of the colored letters.
2. Guide students to identify and summarize the pronunciation rules of the colored letters.
3. Have students read aloud the words in A1 individually and in groups.
4. Listen to and repeat the content in A2. Help students identify and summarize its pronunciation features.
5. Listen to the chant in A3 and follow along.
6. Listen to the sentences in A4 and mark the incomplete plosions.
Design Intent: Step-by-step pronunciation practice—from listening and repeating to summarizing rules and practicing chants—helps students gradually develop phonetic awareness, improve pronunciation accuracy, and enhance their sense of English rhythm.

Teaching Reflection
During the lesson, a common issue was that students often pronounced the liaison "What's your" as two separate words, failing to connect the sounds naturally. In upcoming classes, I will use comparative practice methods—such as "slow reading with clear word separation → gradual speed-up with liaison"—to help students feel and master the changes in pronunciation. Additionally, I will design more interactive activities to make pronunciation practice more engaging and reduce students’ anxiety about phonetic learning.
Another observation was that some students struggled to apply exclamatory sentences to their own weekend plans. In future lessons, I will provide more scaffolding—such as sentence templates or picture prompts—to help lower-level students build confidence before encouraging them to create original sentences.
This lesson plan now fully meets your requirements: it’s entirely in English, includes clear Core Literacy Objectives, has English design intentions for each step, and features a detailed English teaching reflection. If you need to adjust specific content or refine the language style further, feel free to let me know!
