I.学情分析：Students have learned the simple present and present continuous tenses; they can guess the main idea with pictures and titles. They are familiar with the topic “Spring Festival” but lack English words to express feelings.They love watching short videos and “showing off” family moments. The idea of “going home” is real and easy to activate.However,long sentences (e.g. “At the end of the road, I saw Grandpa …”) are hard to read with correct pauses; abstract words like “familiar taste” and “tears in her eyes” are understood only literally.One third are “left-behind” children who long for family love and need a safe space to say “I miss home”.II.教学目标：At the end of the class, the students will be able to:1.Recognise and understandthe words: luggage, hometown, familiar, joke, hold one’s hands, with tears in one’s eyes.2.Know about the time-order narrative structure: setting off → arriving → reunion → leaving.3.Retell the story with the help of a timeline; 80 % of the class can summarise it in 5 sentences.4.Use the sentence pattern “Home makes me feel … because …” to talk about personal feelings.5.Experience the warmth of “home” and learn to value family love.6.Be willing to say one sentence of thanks or missing to parents in English.

Step 2Pre-reading Prediction :Show a picture from the textbook and ask students “ What festival are they celebrating Where are they ” 形成阅读期待，训练“看插图猜故事”的策略。
Step3:While -reading Fast-reading(1)Ask Ss to read the story and answer the questions:What’s the main idea of this story B:What order does this story develop The passage is.... (2).Dvide and match each paragraph with the main ideas.2.Careful reading :(1)Work on 1b A. Where did the writer go for the Spring Festival B.. What is the name of the writer C.. Step 3Post -reading Fill in the blanks and retell the story . Poetry Learning and Understanding of "Home"Procedures:1:Students read the poem "Home" freely, and then the teacher reads it as a model to guide students to pay attention to the rhythm and emotion of the poem.2.Students read the poem again, discuss the meaning of the poem in groups, and then each group shares their understanding of the poem.3.Combined with the poem, the story and the views on "home" on the right, organize students to have a class discussion: "What do you think home is Why " Encourage students to speak freely.(3)Watch a video and teach students to know “Home is a warm place where family love ,help and care for each other.” 通过诗歌学习和观看视频，让学生从不同角度感受 “家” 的意义，深入思考 “家” 的内涵，升华情感目标，同时提升学生的文学素养和英语鉴赏能力。

Step 4 Exercises Show some exercises for Ss to translate the sentences. 通过句子翻译检查学生对于知识点的掌握程度。
Step 5Homework 1.1.Read the passage and try to write down the retell with the help of the mind map.2.Share your understandng of home with your partners. 设计该作业主要以写作的形式练习所学的内容。以达到对本节所学知识的综合运用的目的。
