They are familiar with the topic “Spring Festival” but lack English words to express feelings.They love watching short videos and “showing off” family moments. The idea of “going home” is real and easy to activate.However,long sentences (e.g. “At the end of the road, I saw Grandpa …”) are hard to read with correct pauses; abstract words like “familiar taste” and “tears in her eyes” are understood only literally.One third are “left-behind” children who long for family love and need a safe space to say “I miss home”.II.教学目标:At the end of the class, the students will be able to:1.Recognise and understandthe words: luggage, hometown, familiar, joke, hold one’s hands, with tears in one’s eyes.2.Know about the time-order narrative structure: setting off → arriving → reunion → leaving.3.Retell the story with the help of a timeline; 80 % of the class can summarise it in 5 sentences.4.Use the sentence pattern “Home makes me feel … because …” to talk about personal feelings.5.Experience the warmth of “home” and learn to value family love.6.Be willing to say one sentence of thanks or missing to parents in English.教学重点:1.
