A Memorable Spring Festival
The Spring Festival is the most significant traditional festival in China, symbolizing the reunion of families and the beginning of a new year. It falls on the first day of January in Chinese lunar calendar, usually lasting for 15 days .
During this Spring Festival, we had a variety of celebrating activities. First of all, a few days before the festival, my family and I cleaned our house thoroughly to sweep away bad luck. In addition, we also decorated the house with red couplets and paper-cuttings, which added a strong festive atmosphere. Most importantly, on New Year's Eve, all family members sat together to have a big reunion dinner with a wide range of delicious dishes on the table. After the dinner, I watched the Spring Festival Gala with my parents, discussing on the excellent performances of the actors. Last but not least, children set off fireworks, lighting up the night sky and filling the air with joy.
This Spring Festival was really unforgettable and meaningful to me. I felt the deep love and warmth of my family. I hope our family will always be healthy and pleased, and that our traditional culture can be passed on from generation to generation.
