The simple future tense
The future progressive tense
What different impressions do they make
The simple future tense just tells us that something will happen in the future. It is often used for predictions or firm promises.
On the other hand, the future progressive tense is used to talk about a future habit or routine, or something that you expect will happen in the normal course of things, such as events on a planned schedule. It can also be used for an action that takes a long time, especially when contrasted with
a shorter action.
The future progressive tense
将来进行时
will/shall + (not) be + doing
Find more sentences using the future progressive tense from the unit. Rewrite them using the simple future tense. Try to feel the different impressions they make.

1.两者基本用法不一样
将来进行时 V.S 一般将来时
将来进行时表示将来某时正在进行的动作,或表示已计划好要做的事情,一般将来时表示将来某时将要发生的动作,侧重表推测或主观意愿。
e.g.:
What will you be doing this time tomorrow
明天这个时候你会在做什么呢?
What will you do tomorrow
你明天干什么?
将来进行时 V.S 一般将来时
2. 两者均可表示将来,但用将来进行时语气更委婉。

你什么时候见怀特先生?
直接询问,如上司对下属
委婉询问,如下属对上司

3. 有时一般将来时中的will含有“愿意”的意思,侧重表达主观意愿,而用将来进行时则没有此意,表示事情的发展是一种必然趋势,具有客观性,表达说话者的期待之情。

不会由玛丽来付钱。
