“Clean Plate” campaign: getting serious about food waste
What is the “Clean Plate” campaign
It is a campaign which urges people to order, cook and eat the exact amount of food they need.
What efforts to fight food waste are mentioned in the article
In April 2021, a law was made.
Some canteens and restaurants estimate the amount of food needed for large groups, prepare smaller serving sizes, offer on-demand dished and motivate customers to finish their meals. When eating out, people choose to order according to their needs and pack up their leftovers. At home, they carefully plan meals and do not cook more than (it is) needed.

Good morning, respected teachers and dear fellow students! I feel so honored to deliver a speech themed at/on food for life.
The past weeks have witnessed the severeness of wasting food in our school canteen. Faced with the severe reality, not only are we expected to raise the awareness of saving food, but also we should go into action immediately. For example, hosting activities to highlight the importance of Clean Plate, ordering according to their needs and packing up leftovers when eating out. Do remember: a small act could make a big difference to saving food.
