Last summer, Mary stayed with her friend Alice in London. She brought her new guitar. One day, Alice tried playing it but dropped it by mistake. The guitar broke. Mary shouted at Alice and told her to buy a new one. But Alice had no money.
They argued and stopped talking. After a few days, Mary felt bad and she missed Alice. She said sorry to Alice and so did Alice. Alice sold her toys and bought Mary a new guitar.
Mary was happy and said, “You’re more important than the guitar!” They learnt that true friendship starts with understanding each other, even when mistakes happen.

When Kong Rong was a little boy, his family ate pears together one day. His father asked him to pick one first. Kong Rong chose the smallest pear. His father was surprised and asked why. He said, "My brothers are older, so they should have bigger ones. My younger brother is small, so I should give him a bigger pear too."Everyone praised Kong Rong for being kind and thoughtful. This story tells us to care about others.

During the Warring States Period, Lin Xiangru and Lian Po were both important officials of Zhao. Lin once did great things for Zhao, so the king gave him a higher position than Lian.Lian felt angry and often spoke badly of Lin. But Lin always avoided him. Later, Lian learned Lin did this to keep peace for Zhao, not because he was afraid. Ashamed, Lian tied thorns to his back and went to Lin’s home to apologize. Lin forgave him. They became good friends and worked together to protect Zhao.
