similar to和different from为并列的形容词结构，共用系动词are和介词宾语me因此有所省略，但介词to和from都不可少。完整句式应为："...if my friends are similar to me or different from me."。

To my surprise, our answers differ in many ways. Maybe I'm not the person that I thought I was. For example, I still consider myself a bit shy even after a year at junior high school, but my partner thinks that I'm more confident compared to last year. He believes that it is because I joined many school clubs.

I learned that I've become more confident in public speaking. I used to be very shy, but now I can give a speech in front of the whole class without feeling nervous.
I found out that I'm more patient than I thought. When working on group projects, I can listen to others' opinions carefully and help solve problems calmly.
Li Ming changed the most. He used to be very quiet and didn't like to participate in class activities. But now he is active in discussions and even joined the school debate club.
