第二部分:阅读理解 (26 分)
A
How to Turn Your Ideas into Reality(现实)
We all have ideas—maybe it's learning a new language, starting a
blog(博客), or building a model airplane. But how do we make these
ideas happen Here are some practical steps.
First, write your idea down. Putting your idea on paper makes it
more concrete (具体的) than just thinking about it. It becomes a real
goal. Next, break the big goal into small, manageable tasks. For
example, if your goal is to run a marathon, you don't start by
running 42 kilometers on the first day. You start by running one
kilometer, then two, and slowly increase the distance. These small
tasks are less scary and easier to achieve.
Then, create a simple plan. Decide when and where you will work on
these small tasks. Maybe you will practice the guitar for 20 minutes
every day after school. This habit makes progress steady. It's also
important to tell a friend or family member about your goal. They can
encourage you and help you stay responsible.
Don't be afraid of obstacles (障碍). You will face difficulties.
4
Maybe you get sick and miss a week of practice, or you find a task
harder than you thought. The key is not to give up. Adjust(调整)your
plan if necessary, but keep the final goal in mind.
Finally, celebrate small victories! Each time you complete a small
task, reward yourself. This positive reinforcement (强化) will keep
you motivated. Remember, every big achievement is a series of small
steps. Start small, stay consistent, and you will be amazed at what
you can make happen.
( )36. What is the first step to make an idea happen according to
the passage
A. Tell a friend about it. B. Break it into small tasks.
C. Write it down on paper. D. Create a detailed plan.
( )37. Why does the writer suggest breaking a big goal into small
tasks
A. Because small tasks are more fun.
B. Because small tasks are less frightening and easier to do.
C. Because it takes less time to finish small tasks.
D. Because people enjoy doing easy things.
( )38. What does the word "they" in paragraph 3 refer to
A. Small tasks. B. Ideas.
C.A friend or family member. D. Obstacles.
( )39. What should you do when you face obstacles
A. Change your plan if needed but don't quit.
B. Forget about the final goal.
C. Give up immediately and set a new goal.
D. Ask someone else to finish the task for you.
( )40. What is the main purpose of the passage
A. To tell an interesting story about goals.
B. To explain why ideas are important.
C. To give advice on achieving personal goals. D. To discuss different types of goals people have.
B
Sarah's Baking Dream
Sarah had always loved the smell of fresh bread from the bakery
near her house. When she was twelve, she got a simple idea: "I want
to learn how to bake a perfect loaf of bread." It seemed like a small
dream, but making it happen was a journey of learning and
persistence(坚持不懈).
Her first attempt was a disaster. The bread was as hard as a rock.
She felt disappointed but decided to try again. She watched online
tutorials and read a book about baking. She learned about the
importance of ingredients like yeast (酵母) and the right water
temperature. Her second attempt was better, but the bread was still
too dense (密的).
5
Sarah didn't give up. She started keeping a baking journal. After
each attempt, she wrote down what she did, what went wrong, and what
she could improve next time. She even brought her "experiments" to
her family, who gladly offered feedback (反馈). Her little brother
said the fifth loaf was "almost good," which made Sarah smile.
Weeks passed. On her tenth try, something magical happened. The
dough (面团) rose perfectly, and the bread came out of the oven
golden brown and smelling wonderful. When her family tasted it, they
all agreed it was delicious. That small success gave Sarah huge
confidence.
Now, at fourteen, Sarah bakes bread every weekend for her family.
She has even started trying more complex recipes. Her small dream not
only brought her family closer together but also taught her a
valuable life lesson: with patience and a willingness to learn from
mistakes, you can truly make anything happen.
( )41. What was Sarah's initial(最初的) dream
A. To open her own bakery.
B. To bake a perfect loaf of bread.
C. To become a famous chef.
D. To write a book about baking.
( )42. How did Sarah improve her baking skills after her first
failure
A. She asked a baker to teach her.
B. She gave up baking for a while.
C. She learned from online videos and books.
D. She changed her dream to making cakes.
( )43. What did Sarah do to track her progress
A. She took photos of every loaf she baked.
B. She kept a journal about her baking attempts.
C. She asked her friends to taste her bread.
D. She bought more expensive ingredients.
( )44. What was the family's reaction to Sarah's fifth loaf
A. They said it was "almost good".
B. They refused to taste it.
C. They thought it was terrible.
D. They thought it was perfect.
( )45. What is the main lesson from Sarah's story
A. Baking bread is very easy.
B. Family support is the most important thing.
C. Dreams can be achieved through persistence and learning.
D. Everyone should learn how to bake.

Wan Hu was a Chinese official who lived around the Ming Dynasty.
6
He is famous for a legendary (传奇的) story about the first attempt
to fly into space using rockets.
The story says that Wan Hu wanted to be the first man to reach the
moon. He had a chair built with 47 large rockets attached to it. On
the day of the flight, Wan Hu sat on the chair and ordered his
servants to light all the rockets at the same time. There was a huge
explosion and a lot of smoke. When the smoke cleared, Wan Hu and the
chair were gone. He was never seen again.
Although this story is probably not true, Wan Hu is still
remembered as a pioneer of spaceflight. In fact, a crater on the far

三、听短文,选择。
Easton LaChappelle is a young American inventor. When he was only
14, his curiosity about robotics led him to build his first robotic
arm. He didn't use expensive materials. Instead, he used LEGO bricks,
fishing line, and parts from a toy aeroplane. At a science fair, he
met a girl with an $80,000 prosthetic arm. This experience gave him a
strong drive to create a cheaper solution. He learned about 3-D
printing and used it to make parts for a new, lighter robotic arm.
The most amazing part is that his arm can be controlled by the user's
brain signals. His story teaches us that with curiosity and talent,
young people can also make great inventions that help others.
四、听短文,填词。
Many great inventions happened by accident.Alexander Fleming
discovered penicillin when he noticed that a mould had killed some
bacteria in his lab by accident. Spencer Silver invented a special
glue that wasn't very strong. For years, no one knew how to use it.
The Wright Brothers failed many times before they finally succeeded
in flying. Zhang Heng invented the seismicograph, a machine that
could sense earthquakes from far away. And the compass, invented by
the ancient Chinese, helped people with direction, especially when
they were travelling on the sea.

范文:
My Invention
I really want to invent a helpful machine called the "Homework
Helper". It would be a small, smart robot.
Its main function is to help students with their homework. If you
have a difficult maths problem, you can just speak to it, and it will
explain how to solve it step by step. It won't give you the answer
directly, but it will teach you the method. Another great feature is
that it can check your writing for spelling and grammar mistakes.
This invention would be very useful. It would make learning easier
and less stressful for students. It would be like having a patient
teacher available 24 hours a day. I believe my Homework Helper could
help many students improve their grades and enjoy studying more.
说明:
