Why Do Animals Have Special Colours
Animals have different colours for many important reasons, and most of these reasons are to protect themselves or find food easily.
Some animals change their colours with seasons. For example, the Arctic fox has white fur in winter. This colour matches the snow, so wolves and other enemies can’t find it easily. In summer, its fur turns brown, the same as the grass and rocks. This helps it hide while looking for food.
Another interesting animal is the chameleon. It can change its colour very quickly to match its surroundings. If it sits on a green leaf, it becomes green; if it moves to a brown branch, it turns brown. This ability helps it hide from birds and other predators.
