1820年,有一次,独立战争英雄何塞·圣马丁将军看到天空一只展翅自由飞翔的奇鸟,这只鸟胸脯是白的,翅膀是红的,他对着这只鸟高兴地喊了起来:“看!自由的旗帜!”从此,这只鸟被看作是自由、独立和幸福的象征。
秘鲁共和国国徽盾面上有三组图案:
①在蔚蓝的天空下,一匹南美的骆马屹立着,象征这个国家的动物群。这种骆马生活在秘鲁的髙原地带,秘鲁是南美胳马的故乡。
②盾面的右上角是一棵绿色的金鸡纳树,象征这个国家的植物群。
③盾面的下部是一个象征丰饶的羊角,表示秘鲁丰富的自然资源和矿藏。盾面上端饰以绿色叶环,四周饰有国旗。
Peru is the third largest country in South America, and borders with Ecuador, Columbia, Brazil, Bolivia and Chile. Its area is 1,285,216 square kilometers, and its population is 22 million 32 million (2018). Its capital is Lima.
