They can recognize and use common daily vocabulary (such as words about family, hobbies, and food) and master simple sentence structures like "I’m...", "I like...", and "I live in...", which provides a preliminary language basis for understanding the "friend-making" themed reading text.In terms of reading ability, they can read short and simple English passages at a moderate pace, grasp the general idea of texts related to daily life, and extract obvious key information (such as names, ages, and hobbies) from them. However, their ability to connect text content with visual materials (like matching posts with photo boards) and organize scattered information systematically (such as filling in tables with detailed personal information) is still underdeveloped and requires targeted guidance.In terms of language output, they are willing to express their thoughts in English during class activities (such as talking about their friends), but they often struggle with limited vocabulary and inflexible sentence use—for example, they may repeat simple sentences or pause frequently when trying to compare their own characteristics with others. Additionally, their thinking habits are still being formed; they tend to translate Chinese into English word by word, which affects the fluency of their expression.Overall, students have the basic language knowledge to learn this reading lesson, but they need step-by-step guidance in deepening reading comprehension and improving language application skills. The "friend-making" topic is close to their daily life, which can stimulate their learning interest and help them better engage in class activities.II.教学目标:At the end of the class, the students will be able to:1.know common vocabulary related to personal information and friend-making, such as "nationality", "hobby", "pet", "favorite food", and use them correctly in simple expressions. 2.be familiar with and apply simple sentence patterns for self-introduction and comparison, e.g., "I’m + age", "I like + noun/doing", "I have... but...", "Both A and B...". 3.read short posts about friend-making, extract key personal information (age, nationality, hobbies, etc.) accurately, and match text content with visual materials (Photo Boards A and B).4.develop cooperative learning skills by participating in group discussions (e.g., exchanging matching answers, sharing comparison results) and learn to communicate and collaborate with peers to solve learning tasks.5.stimulate student’s interest in English learning through the "friend-making" topic (close to daily life), and enhance confidence in using English to express personal thoughts. 6.cultivate a positive attitude towards making friends, understand that "similar hobbies" and "respect for differences" are important for building friendships, and develop the awareness of communicating and sharing with others.
