比“What’s your name ”更礼貌些,通常用于正式场合或与不太熟悉的人交流。
本句是以情态动词may开头的一般疑问句。
回答:① My name is ... +姓名. ② I’m / I am +姓名.
③直接回答姓名.

是熟人之间见面时的常用问候语,用来询问对方的身体状况,是一种礼貌的问候方式。
答语常用:
Fine. / I’m fine. / I’m (very)well. /I’m OK, Thank you或Thanks. 我很好,谢谢。
出于礼貌,还可用 “How are you ”或 “And you ”问候对方。

【拓展】当主语是第三人称单数时,be动词用is; 其他复数情况下,be动词通常用are。
I用am, you用are,is用于he/she/it, 单数全部用is, 复数全部要用are.
