“What a fool I was...” 是what引导的感叹句。其结构为“What + (a/an) + 形容词 + 可数名词单数/复数 + 主语 + 谓语!”或“What + 形容词 + 不可数名词 + 主语 + 谓语!”。例如:

I regret to tell you the bad news. 我很遗憾要告诉你这个坏消息。

Sentences
“Why not + 动词原形(短语) ” 是英语中常用的提建议句型,相当于“相当于 “Why don’t you + 动词原形?”,用于委婉地建议对方做某事。例如:Why not go for a walk after dinner 为什么晚饭后不出去散步呢?

Sentences
something good意为“美好的东西”,是 “不定代词 + 形容词” 的结构,英语中形容词修饰不定代词(something, anything, nothing 等)时,需后置,即形容词放在不定代词之后。例如:
I want to buy something special for my mom’s birthday.我想给妈妈买个特别的生日礼物。There’s nothing interesting in this book. 这本书里没有什么有趣的内容。
