教 材 地 位 及 作 用 The theme of this unit is parks—all kinds of parks,including national parks,city parks,amusement parks,and cultural parks. Students will begin by reading about a wild and remote national park in Europe and the people who live there.Closer to home,a large city park will be examined,followed by various theme parks.This knowledge is then activated by having students talk and write about a theme park that they know of.Students will then create a plan for their own theme park,before watching a video about the kinds of life one can find in a city park or an urban green area.It is hoped that students can use the information in this unit to consider how parks add to our lives and are important to us in this fast-paced modern world.
教学目标 1. Enable students to master the usage of such important words and expressions. 2. Enable students to master the basic grammar rules about -ing form as the subject 3. Guide students to identify different types of parks and their unique features. 4. share ideas about the significance of setting up national parks and living in harmony with nature 5. Instruct students to use functional sentences asking for and giving directions
教学重点 Enable students to learn how to use the words and phrases in real situations. Enable students to master how to use grammar rules about non-restrictive relative clauses properly. Enable students to use the functional items of showing one’s excitement, surprise and disappointment. Guide the students to write a passage to introduce a great people from different aspects: life experience, qualities, achievement and evaluation.

Step 1. A brainstorm of parks Q: What comes to your mind first when you think of parks Ss: A fun place, the West Lake, beautiful scenery, national parks, theme parks, scary roller coasters, educational …… T: As we can see, we’ve come up with many words about parks describing what they are, what kinds of parks we have in the world, what we can experience in the parks and above all how they make us feel. Some say they are beautiful and fun while some also say they are risky and even scary, based on the experiences. Step 2. Discuss:Talk about national parks. Q1: Now look at the picture on the screen and tell me how this park makes you feel S1: I feel fascinated by the colourful water in the park. It’s also mysterious and I wonder what makes the water so colorful. T: Exactly. What we see here is actually a popular scenic spot in Yellowstone National Park — Grand Prismatic Spring. Hot water of about 70°C bursts out from underground, imagine if you were there in person, what else would you expect to experience on the spot S2: I would probably see the bursting of the water, steam over the surface and maybe some marine life. S3: Since it’s a hot spring, I might hear water gurgling and boiling. And maybe the steam smells differently and the water tastes differently if it can be tasted. T: Good imagination and reasonable guesses! Next, let’s read a quote about national parks. Q2: How do you relate the quote to the picture What does Michael Frome mean by “a sanctuary for nature and for humans who will accept nature on nature’s own terms” T: People can enjoy such a natural beauty as the Grand Prismatic Spring only if it’s protected and kept in natural state. From Michael Frome’s quote, we learn a national park is a place where we should live in harmony with nature. Step 3. Discussing and sharing 1.what are the main features of national parks/city parks/theme parks 2.why do people visit parks Give at least three reasons. To relax and enjoy nature , to engage in physical activities and exercise. To spend quality time with family and friends. Step 4 role-play :students role-play as park visitors and discuss how to protect park environments ----by following park rules and regulations ----by not littering and using trash bins. Students observe the photo of the opening page and try to answer some questions about it. Students work in group of four to brainstorm and discuss the Theme parks Take note of the useful expression. Students role-play as park visitors and discuss how to protect environments.
