Chen Zhong is a retired Chinese taekwondo competitor who represented China at international level for more than 10 years. She won China's first Olympic gold medal in taekwondo at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, and successfully defended her title at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
Betty: Yes, I think so too. And at first she didn’t think it was the right
decision: She found the taekwondo training very difcult. In fact,
she almost gave up. But she was encouraged by her mother to
continue with training, and in the end, she was successful.
Daming: Was she in the Chinese team at the Olympics
Betty: Yes. She won a gold medal in Sydney and then another one in
Athens. Look at the photo! She was cheered by everyone. She
was so happy that she hugged her coach and wore the Chinese
national flag on her shoulders.

The Paralympic Games
In 1948, Sir Ludwig Guttmann, a doctor at a hospital in England, began using sport as part of his patients' treatment. He set up a competition with other hospitals at the same time as the London Olympics in that year. Over the next ten years, the competition grew bigger and bigger, with more hospitals in England taking part.
