Before bicycles were invented, people had problems moving around quickly for short trips. Walking was slow and tiring, and riding a horse was a bit risky.

比较项 含义及用法 举 例
lend 意为“借给,借出”,非延续性动词,强调主语把自己的东西借出去。lend sb sth=lend sth to sb,意为“借某物给某人” I lent Mary my book last week. =I lent my book to Mary last week.上周我把我的书借给了玛丽。
borrow 意为“借,借用”,非延续性动词,强调主语从别人那里借入某物。borrow sth from sb 意为“向某人借某物” Mary borrowed the book from me last week. 上周玛丽从我这里借走了这本书。

1. 动词不定式的结构
to+动词原形,其否定形式为not to do。
2. 动词不定式的用法
动词不定式没有人称和数的变化,在句中不能单独作谓语,而是充当宾语、宾语补足语、目的状语等成分。在本单元,我们首先学习的是动词不定式作宾语的用法。
