1. 动词不定式作目的状语,表示某一动作或状态的目的。除了直接使用to do sth之外,还可以使用in order to do sth和so as to do sth来表示行为动作的目的。如:
He stayed at home to finish his homework. 他留在家里完成作业。
He practises basketball every day in order to join the school team. 他每天练习篮球是为了加入校队。
We left early so as to get good seats for the basketball game. 我们提早出发以便在篮球比赛中占到好位置。
2. 动词不定式作目的状语时,既可放在句首,又可放在句尾。如:
