Family time is precious for everyone. Doing things together with family not only makes us happy but also helps us get closer. Here are some simple family activities my family enjoys.
Every evening, my family has dinner together. During dinner, we talk about our day: my mom shares interesting things that happened at her work, my dad tells us funny stories, and I talk about my lessons or my friends at school. It’s always the happiest time of my day.
On weekends, we often do outdoor activities. Sometimes we go hiking in the hills near our city. We walk for about an hour, pick up small flowers by the road and listen to birds singing. Sometimes we go to the park to play ping-pong—my dad and I are on one team, and my mom and my little sister are on the other. We laugh a lot even when we lose.
In winter, my mom likes to make hot pot for the family. We sit around the table, put vegetables, meat and tofu into the hot soup, and chat happily. It’s warm and makes the cold winter evenings feel cozy.
No matter what we do, the best part is being with family. These small moments are the most valuable memories for me.

She practiced singing every evening and even asked our mom to help her choose a nice dress. I was too shy to join, but I went to cheer for her. She didn’t win first prize, but she said she was happy because she made new friends there.
We are in the same class and help each other a lot. Mei is good at math, so she helps me with math homework when I get stuck. I’m better at English, so I help her remember English words. Our teacher often says we are “the best partner” in class.
Last weekend, we went to the supermarket with our mom. Mei wanted to buy a pink pen, and I wanted the same one—we still like the same things sometimes! I’m glad I have a twin sister. Even though we are different, we always support each other.
