You may have heard of the famous saying,"East or West, home is the best." What does the word"home" mean to you How do you say the word in French In Chinese In your language
Although people usually know what the word means, it sometimes has no exact meaning. It's not surprising, because the idea of home is different from country to country, and from person to person. A home is more than a roof(屋顶)and four walls. It's the cooking, eating, talking, playing and sleeping that go on inside. And at home you usually feel safe and relaxed.
Homes look different in different countries. They also have different things inside. For example, in cold northern Europe(欧洲), there's a fire in the living room or kitchen and all the chairs face it. In the south, where the sun shines a lot and it's more important to keep the heat out, there are small windows and cool stone floors.
We asked some people about their homes.
How often do people move house in your country "In my country many people don't stay in one place for a very long time. They often move every ten years or so."
—Cherry, Boston, the USA
What are features of homes in your country "
In Britain, even in town, there's always a garden. We have separate(独立的)bedrooms and living rooms. But we don't often have balconies. The weather isn't warm enough!"
——Pat. Exeter, England

Do you find that your dinners with your parents are less happy than before Do you find it easier to chat with them in the past Do you and your parents often disagree on things You're not alone. Many kids and their parents have such experiences.
When you're growing up, your body changes a lot. You might worry about getting taller or heavier than your friends, or about your voice changing or getting spots on your face. When you feel worried, you might get angry at your parents sometimes.
It's also hard to balance(平衡)your feelings as you grow up. You get into a strange time called middle ground— no longer a small child but not quite an adult(成人). You want to do things by yourself more, but you still need your parents' love and help. You want to make decisions by yourself, but your parents might not always agree. This can make you feel sad.
But don't worry too much about arguments with your parents. Many kids have them too. The most important thing is to talk to your parents. Tell them how you feel, even if it's hard. They might not agree with you right away, but if you keep talking and listening to each other, you can find a way to make things better.
Remember, your parents love you and want to help you.Sometimes they forget how hard it is to grow up. But if you keep talking and trying to understand each other, you can work things out. So keep trying, and you' ll find that you and your parents can get along well.

四、阅读表达(共5小题,计10分)
A few days ago, I ran into a stranger as he passed by. I said sorry to him,and he said, "Excuse me too, I wasn't even noticing you." We were very polite, this stranger and I.Then we went on our ways after saying goodbye.
Later in the kitchen at home, as I cooked our meal, my daughter Betty walked up to me, very quietly. When I turned around, I nearly knocked her down. "Get out of the way!" I shouted angrily. She ran away, crying.
That night, when I lay in bed, my husband said to me, "You were so rude to Betty. Go and check the kitchen floor, and you' ll find some flowers there. Betty brought those for you. She picked them herself——pink, yellow, and your favourite blue."
When I heard this, I thought deeply, "While meeting with a stranger, I was calm and polite; but with my daughter, I was not patient." I felt sad and tears began to fall.
I quietly went to Betty's bed, "My dear," I said, "are these the flowers you picked for me "She smiled, "I found them by the tree. I knew you'd like them, especially the blue." I said, "I am so sorry that I treated(对待)you that way today."And she whispered(悄声说),“Mommy, that's okay——I still love you anyway.” I kissed her and said, ”I love you too and I do love the flowers.”
That day Betty gave me a lesson on how to get along with each other in the family. I spent much time on work before and didn't realize how important family life was. I decided to do better in the future.
