When did Chinese acupuncture develop
The needles have experienced changes in material, from the earliest bian stones to metal needles made of gold and silver. Nowadays the majority have switched to stainless steel needles. The shapes have also changed over time, originally nine different kinds with variations in shape, the needles now used in acupuncture are fine and sharp.

Discussion
Would you be interested in getting an acupuncture treatment if you had a health problem Give at least two reasons.
Discussion
Yes, I would be interested in having an acupuncture treatment if I had a health problem, for two reasons. First, acupuncture is a traditional Chinese treatment that has been practised over a long time, so I believe that it must work, or else its practice would have died out long ago. Second, many people in my family have had acupuncture treatments, and they always feel better afterwards. So I believe acupuncture is an effective treatment for many different health problems.
Would you be interested in getting an acupuncture treatment if you had a health problem Give at least two reasons.
Discussion
No, I would not be interested in having an acupuncture treatment if I had a health problem, for two reasons. First, I am afraid of needles, so just the thought of having needles stuck into my body makes me anxious. I am sure any person who shares my fear will feel the same. Second, the effects of acupuncture treatments often don’t show right away and multiple treatments are usually needed, which means it might take longer than Western medicine to cure a medical condition. I don’t think I could endure the pain for so long.
From what we have learnt in the text, how can we better spread
acupuncture
Discussion
First of all, we should make the best of its advantages. It’s very convenient and economical to have this treatment. As the patient doesn’t have to take drugs, it’s also much safer. We should get all these known to the world.
Then, the therapy itself should be updated with time. For example, more acupuncture points related to different problems can be identified to make the treatment more accurate. We should also invent new ways to combine acupuncture with modern technology and medical instruments.
Discussion
Of course, we should also do more research on the theories about how it works. If there is a clear explanation how it treats the problems, more people will choose to admit and accept it.
One more problem is that like other traditional Chinese treatments, descriptions about acupuncture include many ancient expressions that even we Chinese find them hard to understand. There should be ways to make them easier to understand.
As Chinese, we ourselves should be confident in acupuncture, and make young generations aware of its past glory, encouraging them to show more interest in it.

Homework
Last Sunday, I participated in a lecture about first-aid knowledge organized by our community. The lecture was extremely practical and informative. The instructor vividly explained basic first-aid skills, such as how to perform CPR on those with heart attack and how to handle common injuries like cuts and burns. We also had hands-on practice with first-aid kits under professional guidance.
This experience was eye-opening. I realized that first-aid knowledge is not only crucial for saving lives in emergencies but also gives us the confidence to take immediate action. I believe everyone should have such knowledge, and I’m determined to spread it among my classmates. It was truly a rewarding event.
Homework
Accidents can happen anywhere, and having the knowledge to respond effectively can make a difference in saving lives and reducing the severity of injuries. In this informative session of our Safety Awareness Leaflet, we highlight the crucial steps for treating burns, a common yet potentially serious injury.
If someone encounters a burn, act immediately and cool the affected area under cool running water for 10 minutes to relieve pain and swelling. Avoid using ice, which can worsen the burn. After the cooling, protect the burn with a sterile bandage or clean cloth — take care not to break any blisters. It’s essential not to apply creams, oils or butter, as these can cause infection. Timely and appropriate measures help ensure the best possible recovery.
