There is a saying, “He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man.” British brothers James and Thomas, aged 28 and 21, know the saying very well. And last year, the two brothers spent months running along the Great Wall.
The brothers set off from the Jiayuguan in Gansu Province on July 15. It took the two 131 days of running and walking along the main west-to-east length of the Great Wall to reach the Shanhaiguan on November 22. Their Great Wall journey covered 3,263 kilometers. They are the first known brothers and Thomas the youngest person, to succeed in running the wall in one journey.
The two brothers’ love for the Great Wall is from their father, William. William once ran along the wall 35 years ago. And it took him about half a year.
