Do you often perform small acts of kindness in your daily life, such as holding a door open for a stranger or lending your book to a friend If you think these acts are not a big thing, think again!
A team of researchers in the US did an interesting study. In one of their tests, they spoke with 50 children. These children, aged 8 to 17, visited a museum in Chicago. These researchers gave each child two museum-branded (博物馆品牌的) pencils. The children could take both pencils home for free, or they could choose a stranger and let him or her have one of the pencils.
Before giving away the pencil, the researchers asked the kids to think about one question: How "big" will this act of kindness feel to the recipients (接受者) On a scale (范围) of 1 to 10, the kids rated (评分) it an average of 4.5. Then, the researchers asked the recipients to rate the act of kindness. And their average rating was 2 points higher, about 6.5!
The researchers also asked the kids how happy they thought the recipient would be. The kids guessed an average of 1.6 points out of 5. However, the recipients were much happier. Their average rating was 3.3. Some of them said that knowing the kids chose to give them the gift made them happy.
The study shows that small acts of kindness have a bigger impact (影响) than we think. The researchers hope this will encourage people to show kindness more often. "We like being recipients of acts of kindness," said Echelbarger, one of the researchers, "We should also do them ourselves!"

As the future of our society, young people usually have their own character which is quite different from the other age groups. Being young is often about all the good things in life—good looks and good health. But being young is also about some bad things—being lazy or being selfish (自私的). It seems that people like to make jokes about their bad things, so they wouldn't like to make friends with young people.
But when it comes to Generation Z, those born between 1995 and 2009, that seems not to be true. Gen-Zs work harder than people have thought. For example, a study by Bank of America shows more than half of the young people aged between 18 and 23 in America are thinking about buying a house within five years. And they're not just saying it. To make this dream come true, they'd like to get two or three jobs and don't just spend their money on food, clothes or vacations. Although they're young, they are thinking about how they will help themselves to make their dreams come true.Gen-Zs not only care about themselves, they also care a lot about many other things. They think they should help change the world and make it better. In India, for example, as soon as young people are old enough, they will vote for (选举) new country leaders who can deal with the problems that are important to most of them, such as women's jobs.
Gen-Zs do different things in different countries. But all in all, they don't act as people have always thought of them. As a young person in China, what is your dream

There is a special activity at Chengdu No. 4 High School. It is called "Looking for Good Boys and Good Girls". Teachers think they should be active, optimistic (乐观的), never tell lies and study hard. While the school is still looking for their "good kids", many Teens readers are excited to give their ideas about the topic.
Zhang Zeyu, 14, from Shanghai, thinks his classmate Wang Jiahao is a good boy because Wang is very responsible (负责任的). As the monitor of Zhang's class, Wang takes care of everybody. Once Zhang broke his leg and didn't go to school for a week. When Zhang was worried about his study, it was Wang who brought him class notes every day. "I was deeply moved," said Zhang. "If he is not a good boy, then who is "
For Liu Shen from Nantong, Jiangsu, a good girl is someone people can learn from. The 14-year-old was crazy about playing computer games until she met her new deskmate Zhang Qunhao. Zhang is quiet and likes reading. She often shares good books with Liu. Now Liu said she had stopped playing games and had decided to become a student like Zhang.
However, in Lin Runxin's mind, she herself is a good girl. The 14-year-old from Taiyuan, Shanxi, said she didn't always get good grades in her class. But her parents hardly ever blamed (责怪) her. "I told them I tried my best and they believed me," she said. "Everyone has shortages (不足) in different ways. Those kids who try their best in study or life should be thought of as 'good'". What do you think a "good" student is
