“It’s almost the Spring Festival. Can we go to Hainan for the holiday, Dad ”
“Not this time,” Dad answered with a smile. “We’re going to your mum’s hometown!”
Soon the day of our family trip came. We got up very early in the morning to catch the train. The train journey took more than seven hours, and then we changed to a bus to get to my grandparents’ village in the evening. At the end of the road, I saw Grandpa and my little cousin standing in the cold wind waiting for us. We walked quickly to greet them.

(2) be familiar to sb. 主语通常是物,表示 “某物 / 事为某人所熟知”

I surveyed 30 classmates about their chore habits. Here are the results.
For question 1, most students do daily chores like cleaning their rooms (60%) and taking out the rubbish (40%). Some help with washing dishes (25%) or watering plants (35%). A few (10%) only do heavy chores like cleaning the livingroom on weekends.
For question 2, 50% do chores every day, 30% several times a week, and 20% once or twice a week.
For question 3, 70% think chores teach independence and life skills. However, 20% find them tiring, and 10% wish they could use that time for gaming.
All in all, most classmates agree chores are important, though some hope to balance them with other activities better.
