Florence Little Theater auditions (试镜) are open to everyone.
We pride ourselves on having newcomers backstage or in the cast (演员阵容) of every production. All auditions are held at the Florence Little Theater. Prior experience is not required and all audition materials will be provided. Usually, those who are auditioning will be asked to read scenes from the show with others. For musical auditions, you will be asked to sing a song which demonstrates your vocal abilities. The musical director will go over the song before you are asked to sing. You will also be required to dance and the choreographer (编舞者) for the production will go over a dance with you before you dance for the director.
Sometimes, there are callbacks after the auditions; these are opportunities for the director to make his final decision before casting roles. It is important to know that not being called back does not mean that you will not be cast in the production.
Auditions will usually begin at 7:00 p.m. with registration beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the hall. Some audition times will vary depending on the show.

On my first round-the-world trip, I planned everything out in advance. I knew where I was going, staying, for how long, and how I would get there. And then halfway through I ditched the plan and went with the flow. Over the years, how I plan my travel has changed. Now, I’m a last-minute planner and seldom travel with any plan.
Traveling without a plan gives you great flexibility. Since nothing is booked far in advance, you can turn to something different when you change your mind or something better comes along. I changed my plans to meet a friend on an island in Thailand and stayed for a month. I wouldn’t have had that experience if I had kept to my planned schedule.
However, most new travelers are the opposite — they overplan their trips. Their whole journey is scheduled. Two days here, three days there. I understand why people do that. When time is short, you want to see as much as possible. You don’t want to waste a single second.
But in travel, less is more. Spending more time in one place allows you to get a better feel for life. You can visit at a more relaxed pace (节奏), see more than just the attractions, and open up your schedule to the happy accidents of travel.
When I first made my travel plan, I tried to include everything in it. Then I realized it was unworkable, and revised my plan. I came up with a list of one or two things I wanted to see each day and spaced everything out. It’s an important lesson to learn. I think the best trip plan is to work out the general path you want to take, book the first few nights of your trip, and let your travels unfold from there. This way you are never locked into a certain place if your feelings change.

Weekends are a time to relax and a chance to leave your work behind and have some me time instead. But working from home has tended to blur (使模糊) the lines between people’s personal space and work space and many people are feeling stressed by the middle of the week. That's why accepting the Swedish tradition of lill rdag or “little Saturday” might be the answer to getting through the week.
This midweek celebration isn't a vacation day; it’s more like a pause or break after work on Wednesdays to do something like enjoying a meal with your family or just watching an interesting TV show. “You let yourself enjoy something,” said Hanna Hedenius living in Stockholm. “You can see people celebrating on social media. On the Internet, you'll see a picture of a glass of wine and some cheese, or ice cream, on Wednesdays because people have a reason just to do it.”
There’s a national radio show that plays popular music on Wednesdays and there's a podcast with topics that connect to the celebration of “little Saturday”. While not every Swede practices lill rdag, most do see the pause as a way of getting through the workweek.
Self-care is important for people’s body and mind. Paula Gill Lopez, a professor of Fairfield University in Connecticut, told Everyday Health that the need for self-care is conspicuous. “We have an epidemic of anxiety and depression,” she said. “Everybody feels it.”
Self-care wellness activities can range from eating healthy foods, to exercising, to taking time to relax. Many people don't make time to care for themselves and that's where lill rdag comes in. “Something like it can be quite wise in helping people relax,” said Constanze Leineweber, associate professor at the Stress Research Institute of Stockholm University. “You can become encouraged with smaller goals within the week you can reach and get a reward for.” So if you’re feeling stressed, have a happy lill rdag!
18. Why may people use lill rdag as a way to spend a week
A. They want more time to work from home. B. They want chances to share their work space.
C. They are easily affected by Swedish culture. D. They are under a lot of pressure at work.
19.What does Hanna Hedenius mainly talk about in paragraph 2
A. The origin of lill rdag. B. The celebrations of lill rdag.
C. The importance of lill rdag. D. The requirements of lill rdag.
20.What does the underlined word "conspicuous" in paragraph 4 mean
A.Obvious. B. Different. C. Amazing. D. Possible.
21.What is the best title for the text
A. Save More Time for a Vacation Day B. Working Pressure Should Not Be Ignored
C. Embrace the Concept of Little Saturday D. Self-Care Is Necessary for People’s Health
D
When package holidays were first offered to the U.K. public in the late 1940s and early 1950s, they satisfied a need. No longer did Brits have to go to the effort of booking a flight and looking for a hotel by themselves. U.K. travel agents (代理商) did the hard work for them, offering them holidays that covered everything, so it wasn’t surprising that package holidays quickly became hugely popular.
But while this model has served travel-hungry Brits well, it’s clear that things need to change. Go back 10 years, and the thought of U.K. travel giant Thomas Cook going into liquidation (清算) would have been unthinkable. But in September this year, that’s exactly what happened. The package-holiday model of the 20th century now feels a little tired, and with the public eager for better travel experiences, things are changing.
Ian Crawford, a representative of www.holidayhypermarket.co.uk, says that travel companies are having to go the extra mile to satisfy consumers. He says, “Customers are now looking for a more personalized experience, where they have total control of where they go, how long they stay, and what they do when they’re there.” 4 Holidaymakers now have many more options open to them. Firstly, destination — there are now more places to visit than ever before. Secondly, holiday lengths are changing. For example, a seven-day break can now become an eight- or nine-day trip if you have an extra day or two on your hands. And any airline worth its salt now offers an app for painless check-ins and security (安保) clearance. Once you’re at your destination, hotels have to up their game.
Johan Lundgren, CEO of easyJet, has said that the travel industry needs to adapt to the way that customers take holidays, but at the same time pointed out that package-holiday sales have grown at a higher rate than the economy each year for the past 10 years. This statistic shows that travel companies are moving with the times and updating their offerings to customers. As long as they continue to modernize and offer flexible breaks to customers, the future of the package holiday looks bright.
22. Package holidays were popular at first mainly for their _______.
A. free service B. low prices C. selected destinations D. great convenience
23. What is the purpose of paragraph 2
A. To express pity for Thomas Cook. B. To stress the economic downturn.
C. To show the change in customers’ demands. D. To encourage responsible travel practices.
24. How can the travel industry deal with the current situation
A. By offering distant destinations. B. By cooperating with hotels.
C. By increasing marketing efforts. D. By offering personalized service.
25. What does the author think of the future of package holidays
A. Challenging. B. Promising. C. Hopeless. D. Uncertain.

Dear Wang Mei,
I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time with English, but don't be too worried. Many students feel the same way when they first go to high school . Here are some suggestions that I find helpful.
Firstly, to remember words better, you could try learning them in groups. For example, when you learn "rain," you can also learn "rainy" and "raincoat." This way, you can remember more words at a time. Secondly, if you find it hard to understand the teacher in class, don't be afraid to ask her questions after class. I bet he will answer your question patiently. Also, I truly understand that speaking can be scary. Why not start by reading aloud every day When you become more confident, you can try talking to your classmates in English. Remember, it's okay to make mistakes because that's how we learn.
A thousand-mile journey begins with the first step. I am sure that you can do it as long as you keep trying!
Yours
Li Hua
