【拓展】by的用法
(1) 通过……(方式、手段)
说明做某事的途径、方法,后接名词 / 动名词(动词 + ing 形式 )。
eg:We can learn English by watching English movies.

【拓展】keep 的其他常见用法:
keep (sb.) doing sth. (让某人)一直做某事
eg: My mother kept me waiting for her until she came back.
妈妈让我等她直到她回来。
keep sb. from doing sth. 阻止某人做某事
eg: All the parents keep their children from playing in the river.
所有的父母都不让他们的孩子在河里玩耍。
keep sb./sth. +adj. 使某人/某物保持某种状态
eg: Keep your classroom clean every day, please.

3. Not everyone knows what they want to be.
并非所有人都知道自己想成为什么样的人。
当否定词(not)与表示 “全体” 意义的词(如 everyone, all, both, everything 等)连用时,否定范围是 “整体中的一部分”,而非完全否定全体。
eg:I don’t like all these songs. 这些歌我并非都喜欢。
None of the birds can fly. 所有鸟都不会飞
【注意】
完全否定:用 “no one, none, neither, nothing” 等词,彻底否定全体。
eg:I like none of these songs. 这些歌我全都不喜欢。
4. My parents want me to be a doctor,but I′m not sure about that.
我父母想让我成为一名医生,但是我不确定。
be sure 确信;确定
主要用法:
①be sure of/about...意为“确信······;对······有把握”,其后接名词、代词或动词 -ing 形式,若后面接反身代词,则只能用 be sure of,即 be sure of oneself,意为“对自己有信心”。
② be sure to do sth. 意为“务必/切记要做某事”常用于祈使句,表示说话人向对方提出要求。be sure to do sth. 还意为“一定做某事”,是说话人对主语的推测,主语可以是人也可以是物。
eg: Be sure to give it back to me on time. 务必按时将它还给我。
③“be sure+(that) 从句”意为“确信······对······有把握”,主语必须是人。
eg: Whether or not we′re successful, we can be sure that we did our best.
不管成功与否,我们确定尽了最大努力。
