Read and answer the questions below.
P73
A
1. What problem are polar bears and blue whales both facing
2. What can humans do to help them
It’s harder for them to survive because of global warming.
For polar bears, we should reduce activities that cause global warming to slow down the melting of Arctic ice.
For blue whales, we should follow the laws against hunting them, avoid hurting them with ships, and also take action to stop ocean water from warming and make sure they have enough food.
In general, humans should protect the environment, follow laws, and raise awareness (意识) of protecting these wild animals.

Tapescript:
For thousands of years, Indian rhinos have lived in Asia. Sadly, by 1975, there were only about six hundred of them in the wild in the north of India and Nepal. The governments of both countries decided to do something to increase the number of rhinos. They made laws to stop people from hunting the rhinos for their horns. In 2022, the number of wild Indian rhinos was over four thousand.

Wild animals are in danger for many reasons. One reason is natural. For example, it is difficult for some special kinds of wild animals to have babies and they may get sick easily and die. Natural disasters like floods can also be a problem for wild animals.
However, human activities are the biggest reason. People take lots of land for their own use, so many animals lose their living spaces. Air pollution and water pollution also make it difficult for animals to live healthy lives.
Moreover, human activities are warming the earth and serious weather events happen more often. As a result, certain wild animals may not have a place to live or enough food to eat. Hunting is another big problem for wild animals.
People hunt them for food and their fur, bones, or other parts of the body. All of these make it hard for animals to survive in the wild.
