For thousands of years, Indian rhinos have lived in Asia. Sadly, by 1975 there were only about 600 of them in the wild in the north of India and Nepal. The governments of both countries decided to do something to increase the number of rhinos. They made laws to stop people from hunting the rhinos for their horns. In 2022, the number of wild Indian rhinos was over 4,000!
