阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构
成一篇完整的短文。
I vividly remember the day when, as a nine-year-old, I participated in a primary school sing-along. While everyone else sang the main tune,I automatically harmonized, but the sound I sang was out of tune with
everyone else. At that moment, I suddenly saw my classmates looking at me, and I felt embarrassed. That experience left a lasting impact. I promised myself that I would never sing in public again, but it didn't
stop there. My fear of embarrassment grew so strong that I began to
close myself off from sharing anything — my thoughts, my feelings, and
my ideas — with others.
Throughout my primary and high school years, I remained quiet.
When teachers asked questions in class, I stayed silent, too afraid of
being wrong, though I knew the answers to questions. Even when I had
ideas to contribute to group discussions, I held back. I wanted to speak
up, but the fear of embarrassment always outweighed my desire to be
heard.
I had built a cage around my own potential, letting fear and
self-doubt control my life. But over time, I realized that living in this
self-made prison was far more painful than the risk of stepping outside
of it. I was in a place that Anais Nin described well when she said,
"Then the day came when the risk it took to remain tightly closed in a
bud (花蕾) became more painful than the risk to bloom (开花)."
That realization sparked (引发) something within me, but it took
another small moment to set the change in motion. During my first year
of college, I was chatting with a friend in a quiet cafe, talking about life,
dreams, and fears. I watched her speak so openly and confidently about
her experiences and thoughts. It amazed me how free she was in
expressing herself, unafraid of what others might think. She shared a
story about an art project she was working on. She wasn't afraid to be
herself and it struck me deeply.
