作不及物动词, 意为“逗留; 不离去”, 通常和副词或介词连用, 相当于stay; 另外, 它还可意为“剩余; 遗留; 继续存在”;
remain用作连系动词时，意为“保持；仍是”，后接形容词、名词、动词-ing形式或介词短语作表语。
