Ⅲ阅读理解。(限时:8分钟)
It was a rainy day. I didn't feel like driving up the mountain road to my daughter's house. But she kept asking me to come to see something at the top of the mountain.
So here I was, although the two-hour trip was full of fog and rain. After lunch, my daughter requested me to drive her to Barage. As soon as we arrived there, I was amazed by what I saw. Looking down from the top of the mountain, there were rivers of daffodils in amazing colors. At the center hung a waterfall of purple hyacinths (风信子).Here and there were beautiful tulips(郁金香). The scenery was like a picture of nature.
A lot of questions filled my mind. Who created such beauty How When
As we were on the way home, we saw a sign that read, “Answers to the Questions I Know You Are Asking.” The first answer was: “One Woman—— Two Hands, Two Feet, and Very Little Brain. “The second was: “One at a Time.” The third: “Started in 1958.”
I was so moved by what we had seen. “She changed the world,” I said. “One flower at a time. She started over 60 years ago, probably just from the beginning of an idea, but she kept on.”
“Imagine,” I added, “if I had a dream and worked at it, just a little bit every day, what might I have achieved ”
My daughter looked at me, smiling. “Start tomorrow, Mom,” she said. “Better yet, start today.”

Ⅳ读写结合。
Life keeps changing. While some changes are exciting, others may make us feel nervous. Whether we like them or not, changes cannot be avoided(被避免). Have a good understanding of them may make it easier for us to deal with changes.
Many new things happen in life. Some are good choices we make, like joining a team or meeting friends. But some changes might make us feel worried. They can be big things like moving to a new school, a friend moving away or the death of our beloved one. Smaller changes might include having a new teacher or adapting(适应) to the new dishes in the dining hall. All these can create strong emotions(情绪), but that's normal.
Changes can be difficult to deal with because the results are uncertain. Emily Hanlon, a psychologist(心理学家), says: “Our brains like familiar things because they make us feel safe. When something changes, like starting a new school or moving to a new home, it can feel like stepping into the unknown. This makes us worried because we don't know what's coming next. ” Changes can also be hard if we don't feel quite ready for them or we are not in control of whatever is happening.
Life would be boring if nothing changed. Trying new things helps discover what we like and dislike, such as tasting new ice cream flavors(味道) to find our favorites. Changes also help us grow and learn skills. Hanlon says, “ Though changes can be scary, they often bring new experiences, friendships, and strengths. So we should face the changes and believe in ourselves.”
