I’m John and my last vacation was great. I went to a magical country in Asia: Thailand. My friends and I visited some of the important cities of this wonderful country. We stayed there for ten days and we travelled a lot, because we wanted to see all the famous places that Thailand offers.
On the first day, we went to the Grand Palace in Bangkok where we saw the Emerald Buddha. Also, we went to the Floating Markets, there we bought some fruit and some fresh vegetables. That night, we had dinner at one of the best restaurants in Bangkok.
Then we flew to Phang-Nga, there we took a speedboat to go to the Similan Islands. We had a great time in this place. We dived off the islands and it was a great experience because the color of the water and the coral (珊瑚) were unbelievable.
We also travelled to Chiang Mai, where we visited the National Park which is one of the most historical and important places in Thailand. After that, we ate Khao Soi, a typical Thai food made from noodles.
Finally, we went to Koh Chang. We stayed in a beautiful hotel and we went to see the waterfalls. They were amazing. On the last night, we stayed in this great city and we saw the fireflies (萤火虫). It was an unbelievable picture of nature and something lovely to remember.
Those were the most important things we did in Thailand. But among others, we went shopping to buy some gifts for our family and we wore some traditional clothes from there. This was my best vacation ever.

Pizzafest
When and where:
Ten days in September, in Naples, Italy.
What is it:
It’s basically a pizza party where people celebrate the city’s most famous dish.
Main attraction:
Pizzaioli (people who make pizza) come from all over the world to take part in an international pizza-making competition. Visitors try their pizzas and choose the winner.
Things to do:
Try the simple but world-famous pizza. You can also join a workshop to learn how to make traditional pizza. While you’re in the city, make sure you visit the museums, historic buildings, and the beautiful Mount Vesuvius.
Harbin Ice Festival

From early January until the end of winter, in Harbin, northern China.
What is it:
International artists take ice from the Songhua River to create buildings and sculptures(雕塑) from it.

The buildings at night. The buildings, which are snow-white in the day, are lit up in bright colors. It’s magical.
