A
When the famous scientist Albert Einstein was 16 years old, he imagined himself riding alongside a beam (束) of light. He used this picture in mind to help him when working out the “theory of relativity (相对论)”. “Imagination is more important than knowledge,” said Einstein.
Daydreaming, called “thought experiments” by Einstein, can make you have wild imaginings, like flying around in space. It lets your mind walk slowly around ideas, memories and experiences that aren’t happening right now. It means thinking ahead to a holiday or remembering how much you enjoyed a birthday party. According to health organizations, daydreaming for a while each day can improve your emotional (情绪的) health and creativity.
★ . For example, after a long day at work or a disagreement with a friend, let your mind fly away to the picture of a big meal or the friend’s smiling face. Imagining how you’re going to speak in public is like having practiced the scene in your head before for many times, which can make you feel calmer. A couple of minutes to let your minds wander (漫游) and hope for good things to happen lower negative (消极的) thinking. Guo Qiang, a psychologist, suggests we should make time to daydream. “It can be a powerful tool to shape our feelings.” he said.
However, try not to let your mind be absent when you need to focus in class or cross the road. Instead, find a time when you don’t have to focus on anything, like going for a walk or brushing your teeth.
Daydreaming inspires creativity and lets you find new worlds where there are no limits (限制) to what you can do or who you are. To encourage creativity, think about interesting ideas and see where your mind takes you. Research shows that people often come up with more solutions to problems after they’ve “had a dream”. So next time you’re stuck with homework, stop for a moment and see where you go in the new world.
26. Which is the right structure of the passage (①=Paragraph 1 ②=Paragraph 2, …)
A. B. C. D.
27. Daydreaming can make people ________.

Dr. Demis Hassabis is a top AI scientist and the CEO of Google DeepMind. He spoke at an old Roman theater in Athens, Greece. He shared an important thought: "learning how to learn" will be the most useful skill for young people in the future.
Dr. Hassabis won the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He explained that artificial intelligence (AI) is growing very fast. It is changing our lives so quickly that we can hardly guess what the world will be like in ten years. But one thing is sure: big changes are coming.
To get used to these changes, students need to develop meta-skills(元技能).These are skills that help them learn how to learn. For example, they should know how to study new subjects well and quickly, use their time in a smart way, and think carefully. With these abilities, they can keep learning all their lives.
AI can help people work faster and solve hard problems. But it is also important not to depend too much on AI. Students should learn to think by themselves and make their own learning abilities better.
Many schools around the world are now getting students ready for a future led by AI. They are giving AI-related courses and encouraging students to look into new technologies. The goal is to help young people become creative and confident learners.
In short, as AI keeps developing, the ability to learn how to learn will become more and more necessary. By learning this skill well, students can stay interested in new things, accept changes, and succeed in the future.
30.What is the main purpose of the passage

A. Winning a science competition
B. Reciting the exact content of an English text.
C. Taking notes clearly to help review what you’ve learned.
D. Making a simple weekly study plan to arrange study time.
32.What can we learn from Paragraph 4
A. AI is not useful for solving hard problems
B. Students should depend on AI to finish tasks
C. Independent thinking is important for students
D. AI may change the way people work in the future
33.What can we know from this passage
A. He pays great attention to young people's future skills

While most musicians work with other artists when creating their music, Holly Herndon, an American musician and sound artist who is now based in Berlin, takes a different way, working with the machine learning software called Spawn. The software uses artificial neural networks (人工神经网络) modeled after the structure of the human brain. These networks learn patterns from datasets (数据集) during the training process. Based on the data, the networks create new material that includes Herndon’s own voice.
When producing her album, PROTO, Holly trained datasets to write new music. The process requires the input data of music written by people or by artificial intelligence (AI). The neural networks then produce variations (变化) of that music. “Computers surprise you in a way that an instrument doesn’t,” Holly said. So what does music sound like when composed by what is essentially a robot It sounds like music from the future!
But Holly Herndon isn’t the only one exploring AI in composition. Machines have played an increasingly important role in music over the last century. The godfather of computer science, Alan Turing, developed the first computer generated music in 1951. Then in 1980, David Cope from the University of California, Santa Cruz developed EMI—Experiments in Musical Intelligence, a system that analyzes existing music and produces new pieces based on it.
AI might not take over the job of the “pop star” anytime soon, or will it Miquela Sousa is a computer-generated artist with over one million followers on Instagram. “I’m a model and singer. And I’m a robot,” Miquela said. This then raises the question: Can we reproduce creativity using a computer
Though those questions are not easy to answer, I believe the next frontier of music lies somewhere in between. I can see the path forward with a new dawn of creativity that combines human inventiveness with AI. And the next chapter of music will certainly become wonderful as music and AI become even more closely connected.
34. What plays an important role in producing PROTO
A. Holly’s special voice. B. The input of existing music.
C. Holly’s rich knowledge. D. The use of an instrument.
35. Why does the writer mention the example of Miquela Sousa
A. To compare human and robotic artists.
B. To show smart robots are very popular.
C. To lead people to think deeply on AI musicians.
D. To explain the tasks of computer-generated artists.
36. What does the writer think of the future of music co-created by AI and humans
A. Bright. B. Hopeless. C. Uncertain. D. Not mentioned.
37. What does the article mainly talk about
A. The increasing practice of AI.
B. The history of computer-generated music.
C. The development of musical composition.
D. The combination of AI and musical composition.
【答案】34. B 35. C 36. A 37. D

Some people think only school children do not agree with their parents, however, it is not true.
Communication is a problem for parents and children of all ages. If it’s hard for you to communicate with your parents, don’t worry about it. Here is some advice for you to bridge the generation gap(代沟).
Don’t argue with your parents.
Don’t get to your parents when you are angry. Your parents probably won’t think about your ideas if you are shouting at them. And you can’t express yourself well if you are angry. Go someplace to cool off. Make sure you understand why you are unhappy. Then decide what you want to say to your parents. If you don’t think you can speak to them at the moment, try writing a letter.
Try to reach a compromise.
Perhaps you and your parents disagree on something. You can keep your disagreement and try your best to accept each other. Michael’s mother didn’t agree with him about buying a motorcycle. They argued over it. But they finally came to a compromise. Michael bought the motorcycle, but he was only allowed to drive it on certain days. Of course, your parents might refuse to compromise on something. In these situations, it is especially important to show love and respect to them. Showing respect will keep your relationship strong.
Talk about your values.
The values of your parents are probably different from those of your own. Tell your parents what you care about, and why. Understanding your values might help them see your purposes in life.
A good relationship with your parents can make you a better and happier person. It is worth having a try!
38. Your parents probably won’t consider your ideas if you ______.
A. express yourself well B. write a letter to them
C. don’t get to them often D. don’t speak to them politely
39. What does the underlined word “compromise” in Paragraph 4 mean
A. Instruction. B. Agreement. C. Expectation. D. Improvement.
40. What can you do if there’s a generation gap between you and your parents

Recently, news about the conflicts between parents and children frequently appear on the media. Why are the relationship between parents and children becoming so serious It’s my pleasure to share my opinions with you.
For one thing, they are lack of communication, so it’s of great importance for parents to create more chances to talk with their children so that they can understand each other better. For another, because parents are always strict with their children and expect too much from them, it will cause misunderstanding between them. Therefore, it’s necessary for parents to build up friendly and close relationship with their kids before expressing their expectations. Besides, parents’ bad habits will influence their children badly. Thus, setting good examples for children is helpful to gradually develop their good habits. Last but not least, many parents are so busy at work that they don’t have time to spend with their children. So it’s vital for parents to spare more time for their children to build up close relationship.

A. To introduce Dr. Demis Hassabis' work experience
B. To explain why "learning how to learn" is important for young people
C. To list all the AI-related courses in schools
D. To compare AI's advantages and disadvantages
31.Which of the following is a meta-skill according to the passage
A. Winning a science competition
B. Reciting the exact content of an English text.
C. Taking notes clearly to help review what you’ve learned.
D. Making a simple weekly study plan to arrange study time.
32.What can we learn from Paragraph 4
A. AI is not useful for solving hard problems
B. Students should depend on AI to finish tasks
C. Independent thinking is important for students
D. AI may change the way people work in the future
33.What can we know from this passage
A. He pays great attention to young people's future skills
B. He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for AI inventions
C. He thinks AI will stop changing people's lives soon
D.AI-related courses are designed to make students rely on AI completely
C
A. Keep away from them. B. Refuse to compromise.
C. Have a talk with them often. D. Care little about their values.

A
When the famous scientist Albert Einstein was 16 years old, he imagined himself riding alongside a beam (束) of light.

A. To introduce Dr. Demis Hassabis' work experience
B. To explain why "learning how to learn" is important for young people
C. To list all the AI-related courses in schools
D. To compare AI's advantages and disadvantages
31.Which of the following is a meta-skill according to the passage
A. Winning a science competition
B. Reciting the exact content of an English text.
C. Taking notes clearly to help review what you’ve learned.
D. Making a simple weekly study plan to arrange study time.
32.What can we learn from Paragraph 4
A. AI is not useful for solving hard problems
B. Students should depend on AI to finish tasks
C. Independent thinking is important for students
D. AI may change the way people work in the future
33.What can we know from this passage
A. He pays great attention to young people's future skills
B. He won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for AI inventions
C. He thinks AI will stop changing people's lives soon
D.AI-related courses are designed to make students rely on AI completely
