Glad to receive your letter asking me about traditional Western festivals, I’m writing to share one with you—Christmas.
Falling on December 25th, Christmas is an influential traditional festival observed by people in many Western countries. This festival is a time when those who work or study far away from home return for a family reunion, enjoying a hearty meal of roast turkey, mashed potatoes and warm pudding. At night, people will sit together decorating the Christmas tree and exchanging gifts. These gifts are symbols of love and goodwill, shared among family and friends.
