This action helps plants grow. In fact, without their work, about 80 percent of the plants in the world cannot grow. 1. What was the captain’s problem
2. When did the captain’s problem start
3. How did the captain send a message to Billy
The engine of the ship stopped working.
It started just 10 hours after the ship left New York.
He sent a message to Billy by tying a note to a homing pigeon named Arny.
4. Why did the captain say “That’s a good sign”
5. Why was Arny so thirsty
Because Arny kept flying higher and farther away from the ship, showing that the note might be sent successfully.
Because he had flown in fog and over the sea, for more than four hours.
Somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean, 1862.
The captain sighed. This was the thickest fog he had ever seen. They were over 330 kilometres from the closest land, so he didn’t know where to go. The ship was on its way to Europe. Just ten hours ago they left New York, but now the engine stopped working. Clearly, they needed help!
