Why do the news reports contain different information
The first report was written the day after the fire. Information about the fire had not yet been investigated or confirmed.
The second report was written two days after the event. More detailed information could be provided.
The event is usually complicated and constantly changing.
Language feature and writing technique
Tip: Presenting information in a factual and formal way and using a quote can make readers get a objective understanding of an event as well as adding the authenticity of the news reports.

Summary
Most of us learn about news through the mass media, and it is remarkably important for us to read news reports critically. More often than not, journalists may have different priorities and approaches to information. Additionally, it is worthy of note that our world is complicated and constntly changing. On the basis of those facts, we are supposed to read news from different perspectives and do not blindly trust what we have read. With our judgement and discrimination, every one of us has the potential to be a critical news reader.
