作文1:
Should Students Use Smartphones for Study (智能手机与学习)
Recently, we had a heated discussion on whether smartphones should be used by students for study. Some students oppose the idea of using smartphones for study, arguing that they are easily distracted by games and social media; nevertheless, others claim that smartphones are powerful tools that can greatly boost learning efficiency. Personally, I hold the view that students can use smartphones for study as long as they control their usage properly.
On the one hand, smartphones can be extraordinarily helpful for study. For example, there are many educational apps with rich course resources—students can watch online lectures to review difficult knowledge or use flashcard apps to memorize English words. Hence, smartphones make learning more flexible and convenient, allowing students to study anytime and anywhere. On the other hand, smartphones can bring us negative impacts on study, since the temptation of short videos and games is hard to resist. Consequently, some students may spend hours on entertainment instead of studying, which leads to poor academic performance.
In conclusion, smartphones are a "double-edged sword" for students’ study. As far as I’m concerned, it could be argued that students should not be forbidden to use smartphones for study; instead, they should learn to manage their time and focus on educational functions. Only in this way can smartphones truly serve their study.
作文2:Should Schools Cancel Homework on Weekends (学校是否应取消周末作业)
When it comes to whether schools should cancel homework on weekends, opinions are divided on the issue. Some students oppose the idea of canceling weekend homework, believing that it helps consolidate what they’ve learned in class; nevertheless, others claim that weekends should be a time for rest and personal development rather than doing homework. As for me, I hold the view that schools should cancel weekend homework to give students more free time.
Firstly, canceling weekend homework allows students to have adequate rest. After a week of intensive study, students need time to relax their minds and bodies—they can sleep in, do sports, or chat with family, which helps reduce stress and recharge energy for the new week. Secondly, what’s more, weekends without homework enable students to develop hobbies. For instance, some students may practice painting, play musical instruments, or join volunteer activities, which can improve their comprehensive abilities beyond academic knowledge. Finally, last but not least, canceling weekend homework gives families more time to stay together. Parents and children can go for a picnic, visit museums, or cook meals together, which strengthens family bonds and creates happy memories.
To sum up, weekend homework is not the only way to improve academic performance. Personally, I still hold the view that canceling weekend homework is beneficial for students’ physical and mental health, as well as their all-round development.
作文3:Should Students Have Part-Time Jobs During Holidays (学生假期是否应做兼职)
It is well known that more and more students are considering taking part-time jobs during holidays. Some students oppose the idea of having part-time jobs, saying that it may take up time for studying and rest; nevertheless, others claim that part-time jobs can help students gain practical experience. As far as I’m concerned, I hold the view that students should take part-time jobs during holidays if they have the chance.
On the one hand, part-time jobs can be very valuable for students. For example, working as a cashier or a tutor allows students to learn how to communicate with others and solve problems independently. Hence, these experiences help students adapt to society better and build confidence. On the other hand, part-time jobs can bring some challenges, since students may feel tired after work and have less time to review their lessons. Consequently, if students can’t balance work and rest, they may feel burnt out and even affect their academic performance.
All in all, part-time jobs have both advantages and disadvantages for students. Personally, I still hold the view that the benefits of part-time jobs outweigh the drawbacks—they not only help students earn pocket money but also teach them important life skills. As long as students choose proper jobs and arrange time reasonably, part-time jobs will be a great addition to their holidays.
作文4:Should Online Classes Replace Traditional Classroom Teaching (网课是否应取代传统课堂教学)
It is said that online classes have become increasingly popular in recent years, and people are debating whether they should replace traditional classroom teaching. Some students oppose the idea of replacing traditional classes with online ones, arguing that face-to-face interaction with teachers and classmates is irreplaceable; nevertheless, others claim that online classes are more flexible and cost-effective. In my opinion, online classes should not replace traditional classroom teaching—they are better used as a supplement.
Firstly, traditional classroom teaching allows for real-time interaction. Teachers can observe students’ expressions and adjust their teaching speed accordingly; when students have questions, they can raise their hands and get immediate answers, which helps improve learning efficiency. Secondly, moreover, traditional classes help develop students’ social skills. Working in groups, discussing with classmates, and participating in class activities teach students how to cooperate and communicate, which is hard to achieve through online classes. Finally, not only do traditional classrooms provide a focused learning environment—without the distractions of home—but they also help students develop a regular study routine, which is important for forming good study habits.
In conclusion, online classes have their unique advantages, such as flexibility and rich resources. As far as I’m concerned, it could be argued that they should work together with traditional classroom teaching instead of replacing it. This combination can provide students with a more comprehensive and effective learning experience.
