Say what animal you are, where you live, what you eat and why you are writing.
Dear humans,
I am an Indian rhino. I eat grass and small plants. I am writing to ask for your help to protect the rhinos in the wild.
Read Para. 1 and find out where the rhinos live, what they eat and why they write the letter.
Many years ago, thousands of us lived in some parts of Asia. We ate special plants near our homes, but they became fewer and fewer when farmers started using them to feed their animals. People also hunted us for our horns. As a result, our number started to drop.
Describe what problem(s) you are facing and what causes the problem(s).
Read Para. 2 and find out what problems the rhinos face and why.
The governments of India and Nepal made laws to protect us. But you can do more. Please stop using our horns for your own needs. Our horns are important for us to live healthy lives. Please help us, or there may be none of us left in the future.
Thank you for reading my letter.
Yours sincerely,
Lila, an Indian rhino
Describe what humans did to help and what else you want humans to do.
TIP

Sample
Dear humans,
I am a Siberian tiger. I live on the meat of animals such as deer and hares. I am writing to ask for your help to protect the Siberian tigers in the wild.
We are facing a lot of problems. We are losing our living spaces because people take land for their own use. As a result, we don’t have enough food to eat or places to live. Moreover, people hunt us for our fur, bones and other parts of our body because they can sell them for a lot of money.
The government made laws to protect us, and people are setting up more nature reserves for us to live in. But there are more things you can do. We need more protection of our living spaces.
Without enough living spaces, we could not survive in the wild. Please help us, or we may die out one day.
Thank you for reading my letter.
Yours sincerely,
Leo, a Siberian tiger
